Outlaw_Torn
Well after a bit of a layoff from the hobby im gettin back into the swing of things so here's were i'm at so far with my Fists. I apologise in advance for the photo's, i'm not a very good photographer as will be evidenced forthwith: Chaplain: http://i1186.photobucket.com/albums/z372/kieren83/Fists004.jpg Assault Squad: http://i1186.photobucket.com/albums/z372/kieren83/Fists003.jpg Combat Squad: http://i1186.photobucket.com/albums/z372/kieren83/Fists001.jpg Tactical Squad: http://i1186.photobucket.com/albums/z372/kieren83/Fists002.jpg Devestators: http://i1186.photobucket.com/albums/z372/kieren83/Fists005.jpg Drop Pod: http://i1186.photobucket.com/albums/z372/kieren83/Fists006.jpg http://i1186.photobucket.com/albums/z372/kieren83/Fists007.jpg Next up for these guys is fleshing out the Combat Squad to full Tactical as well as giving the Dev's some meat shields. Im also working on a squad of Vanguard and have 2 Dreads (Ven, Ironclad), 2 Razorbacks, 5 more Ass Marines, 10 Termi's, 5 Assault Termies, Vindicator, Thunderfire, Termi Librarian and the obligatory Lysander to get on with :) So expect some more stuff over the next few months and hopefully my photography skills will improve with practice! Cheers.
Retrograde
Really nice fists mate <_< I particularly like one with the head wound and the assault sarge's helmet stripe looks cool as well.
Vash113
Very nice looking Imperial Fists there, yellow is not easy to pull off so kudos for that! I particularly like the Assault Marine with the two handed chainsword. One question though, I notice a meltagun in your combat squad, is there another half of the squad or is it just a five man unit? If it's just a five man squad under the 5th Edition Codex: Space Marines it can't have a special weapon.

Your fists are great btw, some of the pics are a little blurry so I can't make out all of the details, but you've git the red and yellow looking great together. I usually don't like it but you've done it well. Just a quick quest also, how did you get the yellow coverage on the drop pod so consistant? I am painting up an IF Rhino by brush and I'm finding it difficult to get an even yellow all over. Thanks.

Outlaw_Torn
ust a quick quest also, how did you get the yellow coverage on the drop pod so consistant? I am painting up an IF Rhino by brush and I'm finding it difficult to get an even yellow all over. Hmm yeah its bloody annoying about the blurryness....the focus is wrong. Might try to take a few more pics and see if i can get a better result. As for the yellow's consistancy my trick is i dont use any yellow paint at all  My method is based around Vomit Brown, thin coats of that to get the base colour and highlight through to the edges mixing in Bleached Bone. Then its Yellow Ink all over it. Not the wash Gryphon Sepia but the old style Yellow Ink. Once that is dried i harsh shade with watered Brown Ink to give the definition. Painting yellow with actual paint is very hard for many reasons and a smooth consistancy is one of them so thats why i tried to find a good method that avoids the damned stuff haha Anyway i'll get some alternative pics up soon. kizzap88
nice looking army. I think if I went Vanilla SM i'd be playing Fists too. -kizzap
Race Bannon
The dude on one knee screams Imperial Fist to me. I love that pose! Well done ;)
Firepower
Love em. The yellow-orange (or is it orange-yellow? A question that has haunted me since grade school!) is very rich. And as others have said, the kneeling fellow is wicked. "Sons of Dorn Special Rule, Super Stubborn: headshots may be ignored on a roll of 3+." Grizzly_bear
These are very nice indeed fella. One thing that niggles me is the sgt with a power axe, IMHO, IF'S don't use axes just sword blades, but as I said, that's how I see the IFS and how my IFS are put together. Outlaw_Torn
Agree about the axe actually and will be replacing it with a sword as im repainting the other sarge's sword with a different technique i like better anyway ;) Cheers for the nice compliments guys! I have the remaining 5 guys for the combat squad base coated so pics will follow soonish when they are done.
FatMan
Really good looking yellow armor and skin tone, very nice! Could we get some close ups of the face(s)? Laters
Grizzly_bear
As I said the axes/sword thing is my personal preference....so wasn't trying or being harsh in any way (I know none was taken) axes are SW or CSM...... So is it just straight 3rd company you're doing? Full company? Half a company?
Prot
That is some fine work. I like the yellow but it does verge on brownish to me... almost like a dipped marine. But I really like them.
Outlaw_Torn
Ok so ive tried to get some close ups of some of them with different lighting. Its not perfect but maybe its the best the iphone4 cam can do? dunno... http://i1186.photobucket.com/albums/z372/kieren83/Fists001-1.jpg http://i1186.photobucket.com/albums/z372/kieren83/Fists003-1.jpg http://i1186.photobucket.com/albums/z372/kieren83/Fists006-1.jpg http://i1186.photobucket.com/albums/z372/kieren83/Fists008-1.jpg And finally, onto a question i dont think anyone has properly addressed. How do scouts function in an Imperial Fist army? Bright yellow and trying to be stealthy and scout out the enemy must be challenging :P And so i give you: "Frustration" http://i1186.photobucket.com/albums/z372/kieren83/Fists010-1.jpg All that hard work to camo up their faces and arrange their cloaks for the perfect snipers position and you can be sure of the inevitable gust of wind... hehe anyway i just wanted to try a camo design and i think it worked ok. Oh and Dorns_fist: I'm planning on just working away at them to full company strength, and maybe even beyond.

ozris
Wow, always good to see some more beautifully painted IFs...those are amazing! I especially like the scouts and think that your "solution" works really well....I've been tinkering with this problem for quite a while myself and still haven't decided if their armor should be camouflage patterned or not. Any more opinions on that?
Tybrus
Love the Scouts, that is how I had planned on painting mine as well, but your skills made hwat only my mind could have pictured. My skills would never be able to carry off that camo but it is amazing.
Outlaw_Torn
Cheers guys! DarKHaZZ13
for an alternative scout scheme you could do black shoulder pads yellow fists?

Haha the way i figured it, and so painted it, was this: He was hit with a head shot, helmet systems went down, fought on as blood pooled within (head wounds and all), ripped it off when the systems crashed completely and the blood that had not congealed yet within the helmet spilled on to the ground. I didnt bother with blood on his chest as i reasoned that it would have clotted before it got to drip down.
