Deathwatch and Aliens

What do you think? Would Deathwatch Marines fight alongside Aliens like allied e.g. Eldar Pathfinders, or are they too xenophobic and simply refuse to fight or fight them to?

 

I mean "Suffer not the alien to live", seems to be pretty clear, but perhaps with an radical Ordo Xenos Inquisitor in the mix, or a "moderate" DW Captain?

 

I haven't read any BL books, perhaps there are some examples, one of you can share?

In the second book of C.S. Goto's DeathWatch series (Warrior Coven) a Kill-Team was assigned to fight alongside the Ulthwé Eldar. It was through an ancient covenant between the Great Farseer Elrad Ultran and the Inquisitor Lords at the time (one of each, Malleus, Hereticus and Xenos) on the remote fortress of Ramugan.

 

I would not say that this is typical or anything of the nature. If it weren't for the fortress being in close proximity to the Eye of Terror, all 3 Ordos wouldn't be colocated to begin with and ANY alliance with Xenos is counter to the express mission of the DeathWatch. A rare and singular occasion for the fulfillment of an ancient agreement but not a standard practice by any means.

 

In game terms, Appocolypse, whatever happens on the table.......stays on the table. It's fight for your side/team and defeat the other. F;uff wise, very difficult to justify unless the Ordo Xenos stands to gain something very significant; Intelligance or Technology that suits or betters their cause and purpose.

I would assume Deathwatch probably follows the usual Imperial policy of only allying with xenos in the face of a greater threat, and only staying allied for as long as it takes to defeat said greater threat. Of course, that is likely to be subject to a lot of variation depending on the Marines and Inquisitors involved; after all a monodominant would probably rather see his entire force wiped out than accept a bit of aid from xenos, while a xeno hybris would be actively seeking chances to ally with xenos, and the individual Deathwatch Marines will have different opinions depending on their chapter and personality.
