Twipp
Hi brothers. I roll currently 2k list with 2 Land Rider and I like it, but in future I will be playing alot against Nids. I think that my 85pts Scout group with melta is not so effective against army without vehicles. so i am asking a advice how to fill my 2k list whit that extra 81pts (i had 4pts over 2k, hence that 81pts and not 85) I wont post my whole list here, because i have done it couple of times in that list section, but i have these slots open in my list. 1 Elite 2 Troops 3 HQ 3 Fast attack I was thinking a lone Speeder, but not sure if that work. Troops footslogging? Or what about Dreadnought with assault cannon, i could save some points if i leave one MotW out of the list. I have always loved the idea to have Scout sniper team too, could it be valid in this scenario? I am open to all suggestions B) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/227861-81-points-to-spend-against-nids/ Share on other sites
Grimfoe
I think a razorback with twin lascannon would fit well. Always nice to have extra punch. Stryke
How about a predator with heavy bolters? It's exactly 85 points and ploughs through nid hordes (works for me :D). Matt D
what kind of units do you have to work with? any lone wolves? what about another rune priest with MH and LL? Scyld Fireblade
Scouts with sniper rifles would be fantastic against high toughness nids like the carnifex. A pair of lone wolves both with MotW are amazingly deadly too. Perfect for crippling, or if your lucky outright slaying even Trygons. This depends on what you have for your other elites though. Considering your options the scout snipers are probably best. Twipp
Hi all and thanks for all the advide. To the ones who asked to know more about my list: my elite choises are: -5 x Wolf Guard Terminators -3 x Wolf Guard in power armor, combi-bolter and PF. I divade these to lead my GH packs I have only one HQ and that is Rune Priest and i usually choose his powers when i know what type of enemy i face. I have desided to not use JotWW against my Nid friend because we both are quite green and in the last 2 games it has been bit too powerful. Rune Priest is leading one Rhino GH team. As for Predator, i have all Heavy slots full. I am running with 2x Long Fang packs and one Land Raider Crusader. My other Land Raider is deticated to those Terminators. I have 3x GH troops with Rhino, and one 5-man GH group with Razorback HB Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/227861-81-points-to-spend-against-nids/#findComment-2729832 Share on other sites
Scyld Fireblade
If you include all 8 WG as a single elite choice then you can take two LWs with your 81 points. Twipp
Ahh nice info Fireblade. I always thought that i would have to spend 2 elite slots on those WG`s. Matt D
also you can make that landraider a dedicated transport for the wolf guard to free up a heavy slot. Twipp
Whoah! I did not know that you can take a Land Raider as dedicated transport if theres only one WG leading a normal troop group inside of it. Very nice, thanks Matt D. Grey Mage
Whoah! I did not know that you can take a Land Raider as dedicated transport if theres only one WG leading a normal troop group inside of it.Very nice, thanks Matt D. You cant. You can only take it for the Wolf Gaurd Pack. If you put a WG in a Grey Hunter Pack its still GHs, not WG. However, you can take the dedicated transport for some WG, and then put some other unit in it turn 1. In any case, if theres a place to trim those 4pts Id say you should bring a whirlwind- the extra anti-horde firepower wont hurt, I swear. If not I recommend a MM/HF landspeeder and 10pt upgrade somewhere else. Scyld Fireblade
Personally I do not like whirlwinds. I find predators to be far more effective. Another option is to add more WG termies. You can never have too many of them. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/227861-81-points-to-spend-against-nids/#findComment-2730211 Share on other sites
