Maalis
Hiho all, I'm a long time lurker and since I recently started a space wolf army, I thought I'd put some pics here( though I'm not very good at taking pics..). I currently have two packs of Grey Hunters, a pack of Wolf Guard (10 man strong) and a Lord all painted. Unfortunately my WG, Lord and three hunters are currently about 200 km away, so I could not take pictures of them(I'm spending my easter holiday in my hometown and decided to paint the remaining GHs while I'm here). My army is going to be a renegade great company (as you might have guessed..) that mainly uses drop pods instead of rhinos or razorbacks.. Pics: http://i9.aijaa.com/b/00964/7916093.jpg http://i10.aijaa.com/b/00954/7916101.jpg http://i10.aijaa.com/b/00563/7916113.jpg http://i10.aijaa.com/b/00056/7916117.jpg I know the highlights might be a bit over the top, but my aim is to be able to paint the whole army quite quickly, and that it would look good enough on the tabletop. When I have more time, I might do some basing..still, these are perhaps the best minis I have ever painted.. MaveriK
by renegade great company, you meant to say lost company right? ...right? *grips onto frost axe, and pulls out a combi-melta* Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/227927-renegade-great-company/#findComment-2730692 Share on other sites
Maalis
Renegade, as in pirate, not chaos. I got huge inspiration from Strike Captain Lysimachus's Iron Gods.. Forté
Try and take your pics against a white back drop and with natural light if possible. And a little less of the chipping on the armour. think where is most likely to get scratched like toes, knees, shoulders. Keep going and def rename from renegade to lost unless you want a hunt called on you :D Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/227927-renegade-great-company/#findComment-2730770 Share on other sites
Maalis
Yeah, I will definitely make future marines less chipped. Some of my WG look like they've bathed in blood and chainsaws.. maverik_girl
funny how he didn't answer on the renegade bit! my trigger finger suddenly got itchy! maybe the OP should have posted on this on http://www.bolterandchainsword.com/index.php?showforum=20 instead of the loyalist section :) cool looking models though! Maalis
Well, they are a "lost" Company in a sense that the wolf lord of the company packed everyone in his strike cruiser, sailed off to the eastern fringe to fight, disappeared there, and a few years later these guys appeared in the galactic south. They're not chaos guys (yet).. :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/227927-renegade-great-company/#findComment-2730912 Share on other sites
hendrik
don't worry this pup means a lost company who only assaults heretics and xenos, right? :) *grabs his thunderhammer* Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/227927-renegade-great-company/#findComment-2730913 Share on other sites
maverik_girl
for some reason my wolf senses are tingling.. me thinks we got a sneaky wolf here! *bolt pistol and chainsword ready* your right about they're not being chaos yet, because there are people here who would LOVE to just help you out! you know? to prevent that from happening! ;) but sadly your saga might be cut short, as is your thread's cut onto the red snow. :P at least you mini's can keep on playing the board-game RISK from those pictures above LOL jk Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/227927-renegade-great-company/#findComment-2730924 Share on other sites
Firenze
...'Lost'? Hmmm..... The 13th may have to 'investigate'... Ooc: I do like the painting, although you do see alot of black and red marines. And if the are/were Wolves, why those colours? Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/227927-renegade-great-company/#findComment-2731877 Share on other sites

Ooc: I do like the painting, although you do see alot of black and red marines. And if the are/were Wolves, why those colours? They repainted their armours after going pirate..and I'm a bit lazy and black is easy and quick to paint (and I might be able to use some of them as Death Company for my Blood Angels :P ). Originally I wasn't going to make them wolves, just some random renegades and use SW codex, but I changed my mind..I think I might call them "The Company of the Crimson Wolf" (although there apparently exists a business company named crimson wolf.. ;) ).. Wulfebane
They look like finished pieces, so I'm just gunna make a suggestion based on that belief.... I think you should paint your bases a non-black color. Even if it's just a simple drab grey like adeptus or even charadon granite or khemri brown. The offset of color will help silhouette the models, allowing the details to be seen more easily. If you intended to paint your bases and/or weren't finished with the models, my bad! I hadn't thought about the bases very much, my main goal was to get the guys painted..I might do something to them before my drop pods arrive.. Loki-LaughingDeath
Nice look to them. However you may want to reconsider the term "Renegade" When I hear that I think of Lorenzo Lamas bad hair cuts and spaztastic plot developement!! The saga for my Wolf Lord is that he is pursuing his own objectives to protect the Domain of Russ. Forté
Not too sure on the 'pirates' part too. Keep thinking that you need a time priest with a parrot for a chooser and barrels of rum instead of ale (Russ forbid it now). LUPUS FIDELIS
Easy now boys (and girl) I think he's done an adequate job distressing the armor, after all he's out and about, not resupplying and polishing. On the other hand, if he is tainted, his pieces parts will look just that much more authentic hanging from a proper wolf's banner pole! Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/227927-renegade-great-company/#findComment-2732945 Share on other sites
