Xeraxen
The look of the GW daemonhost models simply doesn't do it for me in terms of appearance- they're all so shifty and squiggly-looking. >_> I prefer a model that looks as if it's appearance has been set permanently, as if the daemon had mere milliseconds to change its host body to suit it's needs before the wards binding it locked it in servitude. I also like the idea of them floating, but still being fettered by thier chains/wards and such, giving the appearance of near-unbound power waiting to be unleashed. The Equanime models from the Cynwall elves of Rackham miniatures would've been perfect: http://i914.photobucket.com/albums/ac348/R...ll/Equanime.jpg http://i914.photobucket.com/albums/ac348/R...animWarrior.jpg Unfortunatly, though, it appears that Rackham was discontinued and the models are difficult to find. The male wood elf spellsinger could work very well, http://www.games-workshop.com/gws/catalog/...odId=prod800848 I just need to find photos of it from behind to see how much conversion will be required since he might be supported by a tree or something. The Vassal of Menoth from Privateer Press could also work, even if he;s not floating: http://privateerpress.com/files/products/t...l-of-menoth.png So does anyone have any suggestions to make? DevianID
What about the new Dark Eldar Mandrakes? Not floating, but with a quick ear rounding they make great daemon-like creatures, with their glowing eyes sunken into their body. Small hobby chains are also easy to find to adorn them with. Hyaenidae
If I could make a suggestion? I've always wanted to use this as a daemon prince, or a greater daemon...but it would make a great daemonhost too... http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc1/hs166.snc1/6214_258861690098_706275098_8110390_839730_n.jpg (From the Horus Heresy: Collected Visions book) A set of Mk II or Mk III armour, some jewelry chain, and a crapload of greenstuff for the flames, and you could have a seriously gnarly and unique daemonhost. Just food for thought. :) Edit: Clearer pic here... Grey Mage
Theres always the PP Harbinger of Menoth- its a rather fancy model, but its ripe for conversion and definitely floating. Xeraxen
Indeed very nice, but what I'm wondering is if the hanging blokes come separate to the wracks themselves. The Fire Demon from Anima Tactics has potential. http://www.arcaneminiatures.co.uk/miniatur...il.asp?ID=34435 Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/227935-alternate-daemonhosts/#findComment-2731714 Share on other sites
