Rule question, Runic staff and Wolf Tail

Ok, hopefully a quick one.

I have a unit of Blood Claws, joined by a Rune Priest and a Wolf lord with Wolf Tail Talisman. The unit is attacked by the psychic power lash of submission (for instance) and the rune priest fails to nullify using his staffs 4+. Does the wolf lord then get to try and nullify as well using his Wolf tail Talisman??

Yes. In fact, if the tail was on Rune Priest, he'd able to use them both as well. You can't use two consecutive Runic Staff to nullify the same power, but nothing prevents to use the Staff first and then the Wolf Tail Talisman, providing the bearer of WTT is a part of the unit affected by the psychic power.

Cool, I wasn't sure, thank you! For some reason I thought that you could only ever nullify a power once, regardless of how many units are in position to nullify it.

The crucial point is that the Wolf Tail is a different kind of wargear.

And if he has runic armor and gets hit by say, a tyranid warp blast he can get a 4+ to negate the power as it goes off, a 5+ to negate the power as it hits, and then a 5++ to save against the actual wound.

This may be why they werent allowed to take stormshields.

Hey Grey Mage, I could have sworn (in class) that the new Runic Armor's 5+ is for psychic defense, not a 5++. That was in the old edition. I miss it :P
