Grimtooth Posted April 24, 2011 Share Posted April 24, 2011 Went 2 wins 1 loss today with my Wolves. List is up on my blog. Game 1 Blood Angels/DoW/Annihilation Lost on KP, 4-3. Insanely close since I took a 10man tactical to only 2 left at which time he ran them away in a fast rhino and hid them. Also took a 5man RAS down to 2 left at which time he ran then off to hide out the rest of the game as well. I practically kept Meph locked down via runic staff and he was down to one wound at the end of the game. Game 2 Tau/Pitched Battle/Capture and Control I won holding both objectives. Almost tabled him but Long Fangs/LasPlas razorback/Rune Priest LL could not take down crap!! Only lost 1 unit this game (rhino) while almost tabling him. Game 3 Chaos/Spearhead/Seize Ground I won holding 2 of 5 objectives to his 0. Due to special FOC we each only had two Troops. So on objective placing, I created a sort of triangle based off his placement so I could advance forward and be within range of three objectives to rush on two when needed. Pulled a little Wolves ambush by holding back for three turns before springing forward to end up wiping out a vindi, chaos sorceror, chaos termi squad, two rhinos, and CSM squad in the closing two turns while moving onto 2 objectives for the win. So a good day with exception of game one due to crap rolling. In fact, all three opponents commented on how horrendous my rolling happened to be. Dice are to be executed and replaced with some more willing to please me. It's almost like bringing Ragnar, Bjorn or Njal in a 500pt game.. okay well you get what I'm trying to imply. I think you did exceptional from your battle report. I deployed my GH in support of each other to one side which allowed me to just overwhelm his tactical squad, but he played the mission just perfect in getting the surviving two members into the rhino and getting the hell out of Dodge. Same with the RAS. Once their razorback was toast and they were down to only two surviving members, hightailed it into hiding so as not to give up the KP. The guy was fun to play and everything, Wolves could just not get the rolls to finish the retreating BA. Grimtooth Posted April 25, 2011 Author Share Posted April 25, 2011 Interestingly enough, the guy who won the tournament played a guard list and when he took a look at my list he pretty expressed that he was glad he hadn't played me.....lol. I actually almost tabled his best friend (last game against Chaos player), leaving only a depleted Berzerker squad in close combat with my dread. So maybe it was just his friend talking up my list against him. Next tournament will be 1500pts next month which will allow for some nice additions to my list.
