Abaddon Siege of Terra Sketch WIP

I just picked up a new cintiq art tablet and I can now finally draw on the computer without scanning first.

I had a hard time with the Intuos 4 drawing on the tablet and looking up at the monitor.

The cintiq is the screen.

My first sketch is a WIP of Abaddon during the Siege of Terra using Autodesk Sketchbook Pro

There are a few things that really bug me and will be changed like his left leg and the static shoulder straps.

I am still getting the hang of using it and am in the process of getting Photshop CS4 sent to me.

Is there any art programs out there beside PS that I should look into?

I have seen that look on your "Lead" marines face, at least once before. It's the same look a cherry has as he craps his pants from reviving live fire for the first time.

Unless that was the look you were going for I look forward to seeing it as it moves forward, the art is great. It's only his expression that bothers me...

There is a reason for that,When I drew Abbadon the scene was going to be him fighting his way to the dead body of Horus, hence the losing his cookies expression.

I need a bit more practice before I pull off good backgrounds,I need to practice my perspective work, which I feel is absolutly nessesary for a spaceship interior, also I have the Cintiq 12 which is the smaller model and you run out of room fast.

But I have the background on a separate layer so I can always redo it,switch it around that is one of the great things about drawing on a computer.

You should see the great pic I am working on right now that trumped this one using the programs abilty to draw an opposite mirror image.

All that being said you guys are right for this pic the facial expression needs to be redone.

@Tybrus Since the face was supposed to be of him losing it,I am happy it conveyed.

I plan on making another one honestly, same concept only this time I'll have the HH book next to me so I get all the detail exact.

Also keep in mind I am getting the hang of these different programs,I only got the bare basics down, there is alot more you can do with the program
