Logaan
So I got to thinking my small force needed a Chaplain. Now I'm not overly keen on the Workshops Chaplain miniatures (nor the prices but I won't get onto that...) so I decided to scratch build one instead. So with gusto I raided my numerous bits boxes to see what I could come up with. The fruits of my labours are below and I'm actually quite pleased with the way its turning out thus far. http://i960.photobucket.com/albums/ae83/Logaan78/SDC10731.jpg http://i960.photobucket.com/albums/ae83/Logaan78/SDC10729.jpg http://i960.photobucket.com/albums/ae83/Logaan78/SDC10733.jpg It's been constructed using the following; Standard torso/legs from a Tactical squad sprue Jump pack dating back to about 1999/2000 Right arm/Crozius is a power axe and arm with the blade chopped off and replaced with eagle/skull from an old metal standard pole. Left arm with storm bolter is from the new Space Wolves sprue Loin cloth deely is a scroll from a Tactical squad sprue Standard/totem thingy is from the Space Wolves sprue Armour spikes are from an old Dark Eldar sprue Helmet was snipped from the accessory pack from the old Chaplain on bike boxed set before being filed even to repair the damage. Still quite a way to go yet but feeling optimistic about it. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/228456-scratch-built-chaplain-wip/ Share on other sites
Olis
This is more of a kitbash than a scratchbuild, brother. However, as kitbashes go he's pretty good. :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/228456-scratch-built-chaplain-wip/#findComment-2737896 Share on other sites
Servallier
That is one badass chaplain, my only little nitpick is that it looks fairly unadorned whereas most chaplains have the skull imagery that a khorne beserker could only drool over that said, if your chapter's fairly spartan in nature, it would fit perfectly (by that, i don't mean the 300 kind of spartan) also, not entirely sure about the legspikes... Still, great work :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/228456-scratch-built-chaplain-wip/#findComment-2737899 Share on other sites
Brother Kovash
The spikes don't really fit, I'd take them off. The left shoulder pad could use some adornment, unless you're planning to put your chapter symbol there. Oh, and he needs more purity seals! Logaan
Thanks for the input chaps. Yup, still got a lot more seals/skull stuff to add, I just wanted to get the basic items on first then work my way out from there. Left shoulder pad will be blue to match the predominant colour of my chapter.
