Grimtooth
I need some pics of the old SW scouts if anyone has any or can link me to some please. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/228532-old-space-wolf-scouts/ Share on other sites
Wulfebane
How old? The most recent SW scouts that are OOP, or the way old, 2E ones that look more like scout sergeants? Either way, Mav has some shots of both on one of his latest Vlka Fenryka updates. Grimtooth
They are ALL OVER the place with a Google image search "Space Wolf Scout". Just sayin'. Sure, but I want the discussion about them once they are posted to be here at the B&C. Wulfebane
I couldn't stand those models, so I never got any. Sorry. If you plan to have a discussion on them, couldn't you grab some google images and repost them here for discussion? Or were you wanting to discuss choices made by those at the B&C who own them? Grimtooth
I want to see how, if they did any at all, mix them up so they did not appear so alike. If there were any conversions or anything that helped distinguish them from just all looking the same. Wolf Lord Hallbjorn
I have about 10 of those models. There isn't a lot of variation between them at all. One has a melta and he looks to be the only one that's even in a different pose at all. Most of the others have a CCW and a bolt pistol, with one of them having an axe instead of a "combat knife". If I can find my decent camera, i'll post a pic or two. Forté
The three really old ones by Jez Godwin were good. Nice poses and little details so they fitted in. The last load, which you can still get on the GW site look like they were sculptured while sitting on a washing machine. Purely crap! I got some. And regret it to this day. They are ugly wannabe berserkers who always let me down. Usually arrive way to late/in the wrong place. Might have to get some recent ones. Emperor knows I still have a pile of heads lying around. (wait, that sounded weird, I meant little grey plastic heads) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/228532-old-space-wolf-scouts/#findComment-2739369 Share on other sites
Grimtooth
Well the tactic that I used with the old Long Fang models was to mix them with new plastic SW models for Long Fang packs that did not look completely new models yet were not completey old. I am wondering if the recent OOP Wolf Scouts will mix with the plastic scouts with the supplied SW scout bits. I haven't tried converting any of the ones I have, but from the looks of them and the looks of the current plastic bits I'd say their poses might make arm attachment a bit tricky. I'm sure it can be done, though. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/228532-old-space-wolf-scouts/#findComment-2739446 Share on other sites

Max_Dammit
The PDF is incomplete, it lacks the wulfen models, but other than those it should be complete. MaveriK
The PDF is incomplete, it lacks the wulfen models, but other than those it should be complete. Your also missing Lukas the Trickster, Canis Wolfborn, Terminator Armoured Njal Stormcaller, Storm Claw pack, Grey Slayer pack, Black Library Lone Wolf diorama, Black Library Ragnar diorama, and the current plastic packs :P jkjk With the current "pewter" wolf scouts, it's as if GW sculptors did a U-Turn on their design.. they look younger, and look closer to vanilla scouts. They don't look feral in nature, especially compared to the three models from 2nd Edition, "Scout Sergent" models, and the five metal 3rd edition wolf scouts, all shown above. I'm also not a fan of the new plastic wolf scout head bits. CainTheHunter
Those three models on the page 2 with bionic eyes - they are Long Fangs? I've never seen those before and I have to admit that I like them. The most recent (7-8 years old???) Long Fang box only got standart devastator staff with metal weapons + SW accessory sprue. Though I recognised some of my old WG termies :D Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/228532-old-space-wolf-scouts/#findComment-2739839 Share on other sites

Freman Bloodglaive
I have the three Jes Goodwin sculpts. Unfortunately I chopped the hand off the chainsword model in order to give him a meltagun. Silly me. I've learned my lesson. Don't try to convert metal models. They're too expensive to replace. I miss their detail (especially the helmet-less one's teeth (fangs)), but I'm willing to sacrifice it for a more dynamic pose. Grimtooth
I didnt see this model on your list Max http://i150.photobucket.com/albums/s89/Grimtooth_photos/wolfscout1.jpg This is one that I just picked up off of Ebay. NVM, I foiund it. I also picked this one up yesterday as well.
