Schertenleib
Saw this on the GW website and thought I would toss it here. Arena of Death - hosted by The Lords of Egypt / Bolter and Chainsword An elimination tournament based on a single character from 40K of 150 points or less. Your character will fight a battle in an arena against one other opponent, with the winner progressing on until the Champion is determined. This will be hosted by the Space Wolves of the Bolter and Chainsword Forum, Warhorse47 and Schertenlieb. Celebrity Landraider Daniel and the infamous Razorback Schert's Scooter will be there for photo's! All armies welcome to provide their Champion! Bring your Codex and at least three printed copies of your Champion's Stats, points and abilities. What can I bring? - A 40K Character worth 150 points or less. Nrthstar
If Only I hadn't been laid off from my job, I'd be there in a heartbeat with a wolf guard battle leader thunderwolf Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/228561-games-day-chicago-2011/#findComment-2739598 Share on other sites
Wildfire
Rune Priest on a bike with Jaws. Sooner or later you'll roll a "6". Or, if "character" doesn't necessarily mean "independant character", a Swooping Hawk Exarch with all the fixings. Jump back and forth out of reach until you get lucky with grenades... Grimtooth
I would think a rune priest on a bike with Hurricane would be better. Not relying on the magical 6, able to wound, and just hitting would force difficult and dangerous terrain tests. Emperor's Scourge
Whats the definition of "Character?" Someone with the Independent Character rule? Wargear restrictions? Like, for instance, can your model take Fenrisian Wolves? If its allowed I'd try a Lone Wolf. EW/FNP/Rerolls on MCs and T5+. If I was running a Rune Priest I'd be tempted to try Fury of the Wolf Spirits. I've never actually used it in a game. 12" range. Assault. Three attacks S5 AP-. Two shots S4 AP2. As far as bringing models goes, we've expanded the options beyond what is shown on the GW web site. We're now looking at "weight classes" (for lack of a better term), allowing for a broader variety of models to be used. So it will be possible to pit a monstrous creature (like a daemon prince) versus another monstrous creature or multiple lower level (point value) models. In addition, we'll be providing a number of models from a wide variety of armies so that any Games Day attendee can participate. As the GW site indicates, however, the AoD tables are being run by Warhorse47 and Schertenlieb, so they get final say on what is allowed. Also, the Arena of Death table will be co-located with the other B&C table, Hive of the Dead: Hive of the Dead - hosted by The Bolter and Chainsword Responding to frantic distress signals from the hive world of Demaras Tertius, the strike cruiser Divine Hunter found that the planet had been infested by plague zombies. Squad Kilconis was dispatched to the capitol to locate Inquisitor Romero of the Ordo Sepulturum, but was cut off when the hive was overrun by plague zombies. Now the Space Marines of Squad Kilconis must return to the extraction point in order to pass vital information that might be the key to the salvation of Demaras Tertius. Each player controls one Space Marine Scout, seeking to move the scout to the extraction point safely without being eaten by zombies or worse, being turned into one of the walking dead. What can I bring? - Everything needed to play will be provided. For those players that would like to bring their own models, we'll be able to adjust the challenge of the zombies to accommodate you. So if you decide to replace the Scouts we'll have with, say, a squad of Wolf Guard in Terminator armour, we'll adjust the number of zombies on the table accordingly. :D OwlandMoonGuy and I will be manning the Hive of the Dead table. Look for the B&C sign and stop by to meet fellow B&Cers and play some WH40K. If so I'll be happy to help. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/228561-games-day-chicago-2011/#findComment-2739851 Share on other sites
