Two things.

1) Perhaps an actual daemon model on the base that he is slaying would add more to it.

2) I would seriously consider maybe a transfers for the lettering on the base. Like old gothic lettering. Your painting skills are quite good, but your penmanship is meh. I would hate for poor penmanship to take away from the overall appearance when the model is done so well.

Anyways, very nicely done.

Seconded. The mini looks fantastic but the scribble on the front really detracts from an excellent piece of work. Grab a page of "Letraset" dry transfer letters from a local art store and use those to give your model the professional finish it deserves. They aren't hard to use and with even half the patience it took to paint the mini like that you should get a really slick looking chunk of text.

..... or throw common sense out the window and go get a brass plate engraved with your text!

Also... good luck in your competition!

It's tough to describe, but basically you place the letter onto your surface and rub it into place using something hard and round (the back of a pen or the handle of a paintbrush should do) MAKE SURE TO RUB DOWN THE ENTIRE LETTER! or you'll get crappy result like this moron.... its not great in terms of results, but the video does a better job of explaining than i ever could...

Another option would be to buy some printable decal paper from a hobby shop and simply print the text onto a decal. The trick is that you can't 'really' print white decals....

If you're looking for more input on the model itself.... I don't think there's anything more any of us could really say. The mini looks great! If I HAD to offer some minor advice, I'd say the tabard is a bit... plain. Maybe a small amount (less is more in this case) of dirt along the bottom or a simple detail like piping around the edges? That's all I can think of really, and like I said, I'm just nit-picking.

Be sure to post pics with the new lettering when you're done!

Just a thought, you have a slightly destroyed daemon laying there but it fails to feel organic to me. I think there is a way to bring life to the slain daemon and keep your wording without it detracting. Simply put daemon blood around the head and have it drip down onto the base forming the letters. Could be a cool effect, though I'm not sure the best way of doing it.

Just a thought, the model looks amazing though. Nice work man.
