Siege40k
I decided to go a little bit of a different direction with my GK's. This is the first test mini, and I am quite happy with the overall result. I need an airbrush for the force weapon, or a better technique in general, so any tips would be appreciated. Hope you guys enjoy! http://i917.photobucket.com/albums/ad15/Siege40k/IMAG0044.jpg http://i917.photobucket.com/albums/ad15/Siege40k/IMAG0046.jpg http://i917.photobucket.com/albums/ad15/Siege40k/IMAG0047-1.jpg http://i917.photobucket.com/albums/ad15/Siege40k/IMAG0043.jpg Let me know what you all think! KaosRaptor
Wow. Not what I expected. That said, I'm (very) pleasantly suprised. Honestly, looks great man. The bronze and red go really well together. There is one thing I might change (and it might just be me), and that's the haft of the weapon. Because you already have the contrast of the green blade and the parts of the backpack, I'm not sure that blue is the right colour. That's just my opinion though, keep up the great work! :( Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/228619-grey-knights/#findComment-2740402 Share on other sites
Firepower
I approve. Subdued colors but vibrant highlights, nice work on the lens/jewel things, fine detail work.....yup, it wins. Denrik Greymane
I agree with the blue being a little iffy. There is definately enough contrast with the green, which looks awesome. The blue seems to take away from the uniqueness of the green. Change the blue, make the haft disappear into the model and it will do wonders. Olis
I concur - that blue feels out of place. Maybe swap it out for brown or black? :tu: Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/228619-grey-knights/#findComment-2740887 Share on other sites
Liquid_awesomes
I like them, allot. But i do agree with the shaft being the wrong colour. Prehaps a gloss black would blend in enough, but still have some pop to make it stand out? Tybrus
Just like everyone else said, I would change the haft color. I think all red would be a nice balance but that's me. Swordbrother
I think it still could be blue and look good though, if you mute the colour a bit, a few glazes of badab black perhaps. AngryJohnny
Looks really great - I hope to see more. I do agree with the blue haft though... Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/228619-grey-knights/#findComment-2742904 Share on other sites
verpine
Wow, this is really, really, a great color scheme and beautifully painted, but yeah, the blue has got to go. Master Toddius
Love the paint scheme! I would go with a blue blade and a dark shaft. Thats just my opinion but I think you'll find the paint scheme balance itself a little better for you. :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/228619-grey-knights/#findComment-2743265 Share on other sites
