winterdyne
One of the easier marine armies to paint I think. Boltgun metal, black wash, boltgun metal drybrush, chainmail highlight drybrush and you get a more than passable result. Fred Johnson the 3rd jr
well the easiest way I can think of is buy a spray can of grey metallic paint and spray the minis with it and then slap a badab black wash over it and your done Careful. Many metallic spray paints don't take kindly to washes. Or so I am told. I'm also told that often the spray paint doesn't cover enough, so you have to go back and paint with silver to ensure a uniform coat! Wastelander
Hello guys, Since it's a thread about painting GK, I'd like to ask You fellow power-armoured brethren a question ;-) I never really liked the Metal GKs that appeared everywhere. I always perceived the Grey Knights as Grey Knights, not Metal Cans. Thus, I wanted to paint my Emperor's more-than-finest using standard grey palette, based around Codex Grey and its highlights. Here's a few pics to show You what my first tries at this project were : http://imageshack.us/f/69/20110707002645.jpg/ http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/854/20110707002635.jpg/ http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/849/20110707002626.jpg/ Sorry if the quality ain't best, I still hope that the power armour is visible enough. You see, I'm trying to find an efficient way to paint that way. The guy has been primed black, basecoated Codex Grey, washed with Badab Black and Asurmen Blue, and then overbrushed with Codex Grey again and highlighted with Fortress Grey at the end. The thing is, the process of re-coating the Codex Grey on surfaces where the previous coat has mixed with the wash(es) is extremely frustrating and time-consuming (for me, that is). So here's my question : do You guys know any "recipe" to paint grey so that the result would be similar as shown above, which would not involve overbrushing the ugly areas where the wash mixed with grey? Should I use Foundation Paints for this? I'd be very happy if You could help me ;-) Vrael777 Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/228690-painting-grey-knights/#findComment-2812082 Share on other sites
