BassWave
The second pose is cool, but I actually liked the first one better. It makes the Dreadknight pilot seem he's a pro at killing daemons. He's already searching for his next target as he finishes off this one. Nice job posing either way, can't wait to see the finished product ;) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/228770-dreadknight/page/2/#findComment-2744788 Share on other sites
Retributis
Love the pose, but just a liiiiittle tweak of the DP's left arm to have it reaching towards the flamer arm in a "nooooooo!" sort of way would just finish it off nicely. Firepower
Actually, the point raised previously about the legs is a good one. None of the previous pics have really given a good look at them, and considering they're modeled and posed for standing upright, it might be a trouble spot for making the "Oh, hell!" position your DP there has assumed work. A peek at the backside is in order, I think. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/228770-dreadknight/page/2/#findComment-2745001 Share on other sites
SoulTang
Yeah ..... I looked at the legs and started to repose ... but after i had them tacked on .. one on the ground ... one in the air as the huge foot of the DK comes down in his chest /crotch .. I thought they were positioned enough ... next one maybe ill position them differently They just looked right for the pose i wanted. The Tail I maybe shoulda curled it around the leg ...... thats the only thing really I wish ida done ... next one for sure ... ;) Â All the ideas you guys give is soooo awesome !! .... The stuff you guys build here is an inspiration for me to be sure. Â Cant wait to show you guys all three together ... the other 2 aren't posed as dramatically ... but I think thy go well together.. Â Â Cheers !! Rich Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/228770-dreadknight/page/2/#findComment-2745467 Share on other sites
BulldogUK
Love it mate, much like what I was gonna do with my second knight (if it ever gets here) guess I will have to change now....or blatantly copy...probably be the latter..much easier ;)  You know of you wanted to go the whole hog some green stuff flames spewing out of that incinerator into the deamons face would be sweet, I can see it in my minds eye but might be sort of difficult to pull off without looking naff  Hehe, I just realised I have done that before, gloria, the knight titan is standing on a deamon. I completely forgot, only difference is her somewhat greater bulk has left a slightly bigger deamon shaped crater!  Really looking forward to seeing the finished model Soultang, it's a vastly under-rated figure that everybody seems to love to hate, personally I think it's great and mods like this can only turn peoples opinions :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/228770-dreadknight/page/2/#findComment-2745492 Share on other sites
SoulTang
Thanks guys !!! Hecks yeah copy away on that pose !!!! ... I'm just trying to do something different for this army. When we do a whole army at a time I try to sneak somethin in that is unique .... not like any other if we can. :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/228770-dreadknight/page/2/#findComment-2746645 Share on other sites

SoulTang
OK ... it still needs one of our new bases ... but here is the DK so far ..... Some shading ... some wash ... slight highliting .. MagicMan
Looks ****ing A. Â Â Â Â Kinda dumb to point out after you've painted it, but having the Daemon Princes skin as a different colour to the DK would probably look a lot better. Contrast and all that. Firepower
I have to agree. Red versus red is....well I don't know the word just now to be honest. You have two complete polar opposites dueling on one base, but at a glance it is hard to tell one from another. Â If I were to think of a quick and easy 'correction' I would recommend trying black instead of red for the demon's wings. They have a lot of surface area and it may help to add some mildly opposing color between the two (the contrast between red and black is not very strong, but it may be worth a shot). Though in all fairness it;s hard to tell when the background (base) itself is also red. Â The model and the painting is ace, as others have already said. It's ust the composition that seems lacking. One-eye
The pose of this model is awesome, but I have to agree with previous remarks about the red. However I think it's possible to keep both model red if you absolutely want to, just try to make one in a "cold" red (dreadknight) using dark green washes for example, and the DP in "warm" red, with brown washes and orange-yellow highlights. Â My 2 cents... Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/228770-dreadknight/page/2/#findComment-2749492 Share on other sites

Now I'm just an amateur in colour theory but I think adding green to red will desaturize it, not make it cooler cuz they're opposites on the colour wheel. If you want to make the red colder I would say add blue washes to make it a bit more purple. Adding brown will also just desaturize the red but orange-yellow tinted highlights would work I think. SoulTang
Awesome !! .. thanks for the sugestions guys .... they all make a really great point .. May be too much red .. I;m thinkin when we get our new line of bases off the press ... and that gets painted under it .. it may make more sense... :P  Thanks guys !!! you guys are awesome !! popkhorne
yeah although i like the color of the GK i think it would probably have a greater impact to color him differently from the daemon prince. still the model looks excellent and my fears about the legs appear to have been unfounded as they look great, keep it up! commander alexander
I love it when someone does a good, red Daemonhunter paint job!  *Edit* BUT, I think it would look better if the daemon, or the dread-knight were different colors. There is not enough contrast between the two. CaptinLoken
The base being red as well doesn't help.... but could help with a dash of contrast as well...to break the Red vs red conflict.
