Transporting Terminators... In a Chimera?

Hi all! I began to wonder this last night as I planned a unit of 10 Arco-Flagellants and a Librarian in a Chimera. Obviously the Rhino and Razor have a specific entry banning the transportation of Terminators. So is there any reason I cannot buy a Chimera for a Henchmen squad and then throw my Termies in there instead?

Cheers, Andy

Nice idea - I'm looking at similar using the Chimera hull with the repressor back.

If they ever bring the repressor out in plastic I'll trade in my rhinos.

Not sure if you know this already, but, according to Forge World, "The Repressor tank is often used by Sisters of Battle and Adeptus Arbites in an anti-insurgency role. Complete plastic and resin kit, master model by Will Hayes"

Of course that puts us all in the pocket of Forge World's prices ;)

You can do it, but would you want to?

Chimeras are great, and putting paladins in them seems like a great idea, but they don't have Psychic Pilot and Fortitude, what does that mean? Oh yeah I stun lock your AV12 chimera the whole game and you don't get to use those points. AV 12 FRont and AV 10 side are not that strong, and you don't get the benefit of ignoring most stun/shaken results. Sounds great on paper, but on tabletop? Meh.

It's possible, but is it worth it? IMHO, not really unless you have a bunch of Chimeras with terminators in them, but chances of that happening are slim outside of Apocalypse.

If you did decide to do it, then you'd need a lot of them, and the only way to get a lot of Chimeras is to take Coteaz.

Four henchmen squads, 3 acolytes plus Chimeras

2 squads of Paladin

2 squads of terminators

Then I'd try to fill the army with Rhino mounted squads to restrict line of sight and provide cover for the Chimeras.

It's not a very efficient army to be honest, and just reinforces the fact that terminator armies are slow and awkward.

Power armour is so much better. It's ironic isn't it.

I disagree with the whole you'll stunlock the tank the whole game scenario. What happens when you fail to do anything? What about when when you immobilize or destroy a weapon instead. Or how about when you stun it and they just get out and shoot the crap out of you. Plus. 1 chimera might become a target, but what about all those other vehicles running down your throat?

This thread has really given me an idea- IF Paladins can combat squad. (I don't remember if they can or not, maybe someone with the book in hand can help me out with that :D )

Take a 10 man unit of Paladins, give them 4 Psycannons, put the Psycannons and an unupgraded Paladin (or maybe a hammer) in the Chimera. Kit out the other 5 as assault machines and march them across the board or summon them with a deep striking Librarian. Or stuff them in another Chimera and run them as a pair.

The first Chimera acts as a mobile bunker for the Relentless Psycannons to support the other half of the Paladin squad who are seeking some fist-to-face action.

Sure, shake the Chimera and they can't fire, but the Paladins can just get out, move 6", fire at full strength, and then you can position the Chimera to allow them to hop back in at the start of next turn. Problem solved.

Yup!! That's about the way I see it too. Also a chimera has a 12 man capacity. So that's 6 termies, so why not an ordo malleus inq with a psycannon to ride with? Even if you only did a 5 man pally squad, that's 3 psycannons plus a multi laser and a hvy bolter or hvy flamer to shoot at something else.
