spu00sed
I love the Psychotroke grenades, but I am getting confused by them. 1. Are all grenades thrown simultaneously? For example I throw a psych and a brain mine. I roll a 5 for the psych, is the enemy I normal or I1 for the brain mine test? 2. Can I throw a psych grenade at a vehicle? Hoping to get a roll of 2 or 3 3. How does the world is spinning interact with Initiative boosting abilities and equipment? I assume it goes before any other ability (like lashwhips), but it needs clarifying Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/228906-psychotroke-grenades/ Share on other sites
number6
1. Are all grenades thrown simultaneously? For example I throw a psych and a brain mine. I roll a 5 for the psych, is the enemy I normal or I1 for the brain mine test? All grenades are thrown simultaneously. As for what should happen in your example ... good question! :wallbash: Without a FAQ, I think it's probably the most sporting to let the brain tests happen at normal Init while for combat they'll fight at Init 1. This strikes me as a reasonable interpretation anyway, since the psych grenades effect is only temporary to begin with. Only GW can rule for certain, though! 2. Can I throw a psych grenade at a vehicle? Hoping to get a roll of 2 or 3 Clever! Admittedly, there is no RAW preventing this, though the results (especially for a 2) clearly imply fights against non-vehicular units. Again, we'll need a FAQ for this, but it seems to me the intent is that it only functions on non-vehicular units. However, shouldn't Walkers also be affected? Le sigh... 3. How does the world is spinning interact with Initiative boosting abilities and equipment?I assume it goes before any other ability (like lashwhips), but it needs clarifying Agree with you on this one. There are no hard and fast rules for this anywhere in 40K, only precedents set by other similar rules in use by other codexes (like Tyranid lash whips). That's as good as it's going to get for you until GW takes action. Sadly, that's where we're at right now. Angelis Mortis
If you read the descriptions of Empyrean Brain Mines and Psykout grenades, you will see that Psykouts are applied as soon as you launch and assault and Empyreans come after assault moves are made so Psykouts will go before EBM will. Good catch! I missed that myself. ;) That does seem to imply that the psykout grenades would have their effect before the brain mines. Potentially very nasty!
