exsulis81
What models, or boxes do you expect GW to redo, or add to our range? Personally, I expect a Deathwing box, and a Chaplian/Librarian box but that was all I could think of unless the DA range was expanded. i could see GW splitting the Chaplian, and putting it with the BT, and giving the Librarian to the DA though. Zeller
I'd venture a Mortis Dreadnought, DW box with Chaplain, captain, apothecary, banner, and libby bits. Maybe even a jetbike squadron if DA get those. Granted I just jumped into DA 2 days ago I thought I'd still add some ideas. Steel Company
I'd be happy if they did a TDA captain box set for loyalists. I mean hell they did one for chaos after all... and a DW box would be nice, and considering that they put a TDA apothecary in the new GKT box, I think they can do it. That is, if we get to keep TDA apothecaries in a new codex. Kaika87
I'd like to see Mortis Dreadnoughts and an HQ that's fierce on his own rather than "utility" HQs. It'd be awesome if Azrael became our answer to Lelith, Draigo, or Mephiston. EDIT: I'd almost want to see an official Belial model, but so many of the Belial conversions out there are wonderfully creative and personal that I doubt it would see much use. It's like each Deathwing player gets to customize this wonderful centerpiece to their army as his or her own signature. exsulis81
I kinda doubt GW would do a Mortis dread just because it wouldn't nessiccarily lend itself to other ranges but they did make the BA Furioso/libi dread. As to a plastic terminator CM, I'm going to doubt that with the likes of the Grey knight terminator box, and SW terminators. As once you have a decent enough starting point IE those boxes you can easily to a generic CM. It is the Libi, and Chap that have some issues. In addition the Libi, and Chaplian box when added to a bike, Assault Marine, or terminator would fill in the rest of the HQ range, and GW would get to sell more model kits. Thinking about it the other two sprues the could be redone, would be the predator sprue, and razorback to add in the newer options. Thus leaving the Rhino sprue alone but still adding to it without a major costly revamp to production. There are days when I wonder why GW keeps using the old LS in the ravenwing box as the cost of maintaining that old mold can't be more cost effective than using the newer mold. Well if there is one thing, you can't do, that's accuse GW of being the most intlegent when it comes to cost, and resourece management... There is no actual reason to have our little plastic crack men, costing as much as they do here in Canada. They use PVC plastic, that is injection molded, so they cost GW pennies per box. The real cost of GW is in making the molds, but once they are done, (and in some cases probably cost $10,000 - $50,000 CDN to make) it's more efficient to make the cost up, slowly through more sales. The easiest way to do that, is to use common parts (or in this case moldings) between kits, and a lower price per kit, to sell more kits. It's one of those quantity things... exsulis81
Exactly, once GW switched over to the New LS, the costs of maintaining & storing that old mold can't ofset the saving from the smaller amount of plastic. just for the occational use in the RW battleforce. dex_911
I would feel we need Azrael re-done too. I bought him the other day, and my god is he tiny! The model itself is beautiful..but he is not only short, but very thin too. Ezekiel is not too bad..still on the small side though. - I still love the models though..there is something about Ezekiel's pose that is just bad ass :D Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/228919-when-we-eventually-get-a-new-codex/#findComment-2745056 Share on other sites

Brother Bardok
i haven't been on here in awhile, but I want to see Chappy Asmodai come back. Xyon
I would like to see, re-release of all of our special characters. Plus a Terminator Armor model of Azrael, Belial, and maybe one more special character. How silly is it that when you think Dark Angels one thing you think is terminator armor but we have no characters who can take it. Options wise I'd like to see grand masters able to take TA too. New dreadnaught kit for mortis, New predator kit, New razorback kit, A deathwing terminator specific kit (look at how many options are in the grey knight terminator box, and tell me they would not be able to fit all the shooting and close combat options into one box) A generic terminator HQ box would be cool to have, the chaos one has multiple options for a regular lord or a sorcerer, so a loyalist terminator HQ box would be able to have options for Captain(or equivilant), Chaplain, and Librarian. And I'm sure those would sell well enough between Dark Angels, and Grey Knights (with extra parts from either the power armor or termi kits they could make some nice HQ's in addition to this box) And of course anyone else who likes using terminator characters as well, maybe some chaos people would get it too. Re-doing the ravenwing boxes would be good too. We may get 6 bikes, an attack bike, and speeder in a single box, but we also don't get any special weapons for those regular bikes. Which would be annoying for the entry-level player. And one more thing I can think of right now, re-do the devistator squad box. Only having one of each heavy weapon is quite annoying. I know that IG are a poor comparison because they have to spend more cash in general, but their heavy weapon box has 3 of each. They could at least give us 2 of each in the dev box. Tanhausen
I just bought a RW box...now at least they include bases ;) The special weapons is a good idea...along with all the weapon options for the LS (such as heavy flamer). No sense in having 3 Typhoon's and no HF. EPK
As much as a Deathwing specific terminator kit with commands squad options would be great and well deserved, I almost have the feeling they might simply make a generic terminator command Squad kit (and we will see terminator command squad options for other chapter in the future). The bits on the Grey Knight sprue for a apothecary are actually already generic. None of the left arms have the semi-circular elbow joint guard like the right arms, including the apothecary arm though, there was no other reason it shouldn't. The other bits, aside form the helmet, are very generic as well. Brother Kovash
The TDA HQ box is something that I would pick up immediately if given the chance. I already have a captain, chaplain and librarian, but the building bug would hit me again if said box was released. Droma
How about Belial's sword going up to str6 like Azrial's and giving Belial the option to use whatever combination of terminator wargear he wishes(baring heavy weapons). str6 mastercrafted sword with a stormshield would be pretty badass, maybe eternal warrior or adamantine mantle depending on how many points we want to increase him by. At the very least Azrial needs eternal warrior, its really annoying having your chapter master taken out by a hidden fist and it more than fits into his current point cost. Brother Bardok
I can't remember when Azrael actually compared to other SM leaders, i mean seriously he used to have a 3+ armor save. A chapter master!? Calgar is a walking tank of doom, and our guy looks like the skinny sick kid by comparison. With a little alien guy holding his oxygen bottle, er i mean helmet. Haha QFT...I can only imagine what Azrael would look like facing off against Calgar on the table... Is it me though or is Azrael depicted as being quite thin anyway? Check out the art work in our latest dex for him. To me, that guy seems tall and lean. Which is not a bad thing, quite a cool and different trait among the usual broad space marines. Just our model needs to be taller! :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/228919-when-we-eventually-get-a-new-codex/#findComment-2746650 Share on other sites
Xyon
Grey knight characters can use psycannons, and cast psychic powers! I don't see whats so wrong with letting belial strap on a cyclone or assault cannon, same with a chappy/libby/grand master in terminator armor. Candleshoes
If there was a single new box that I would be excited to see made for an upcoming DA range/release in the far future, and it was limited to what we have in our book now (rather than potential new units and their models), it would have to be a robed Terminator box, with the appropriate upgrades. From a multi-purpose standpoint, they would be unique enough that likely many regular SM players and CSM players would buy them as well depending on their army. It's too bad there are only 2 robe poses with our current veterans/marines. They will likely not change that mainstay box set. Interrogator Stobz
Rules wise; Retcon the whole only one jetbike thing, I'd love to see us special again with those in squads (preferable to riding techno-lions IMHO). PLASMA CANNON SPAM FTW. Sell a few plastic ones? yup ^_^ also; ROBED 'NATORS. yes please!!! and in the same box some right handed swords and left handed storm bolters. 2c worth LS Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/228919-when-we-eventually-get-a-new-codex/#findComment-2762151 Share on other sites
Bryan Blaire
Well, assuming I'll ever be able to afford/convince myself I can afford the models again, I'd also like to see some robes on plastic Terminators, even if it is a simple belted drape over the armor (but give us some cool belts, similar to the skull belt on the metal Terminator Captain, but maybe with DA swords - winged or not). I'd second some alternating weapon hands, similar to the chainsword/bolt pistol for assault marines - so, storm bolters and thunder-hammers for the left hand and storm shields and power weapons/swords for the right hands. Also, give us them in the split hand/weapon to arm form of the GK stuff (on everything from now on, please)! ^_^ With this Finecast stuff (and the fact that they didn't release Azrael, Zeke, Asmodai, Bethor, or Sammael on the list), I'm also putting my vote in for some redone special characters, including a nifty model for Belial (hopefully with accompanying non-switchable weapon load out and proper special character rules and gear loadouts for all of our characters). I've been considering that Belial might be cool to have a heavy flamer built into his Termi armor, in addition to a massive power sword (could count as power fist/thunder hammer or some such - and maybe strikes on standard Initiative on a charge) and storm shield, for that knightly look. Plus, what would be more terrifying than a Termi roasting off your face right as he charges in and cuts down your squad... and then his squad gets to kick you in the gonads too. shabbadoo
So, make Belial like Huron of the Astral Claws/Vulcan He'Stan then, but in TDA. And better. Not so cool an idea methinks. As for what kits could be done, I will say 3 plastic kits(one of which will be a vehicle variant) and 4 blisters. If I were being super optimistic I'd say 4 plastic kits and 6 blisters. I doubt that will happen, even though it really should due to the DA Vets set is a piss poor set that really should be scrapped and actually engineered to represent a specific unit rather than be a half-arsed "Chapter Upgrade" sprue as it is. To be honest, I would toss all the DA sprues and redo them to be full unit kits rather than the stop-gap measure that they are(though still offer them direct order of course). Probably won't happen though. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/228919-when-we-eventually-get-a-new-codex/#findComment-2762190 Share on other sites
