Sons of Titan

Recommended Posts

Like many others I've been lurred into getting some of the rather fantastic new GK models. I also got myself an airbrush as a long time wish of mine and thought I'd try out some new tecniques. So here's a teaser of what the squad will look like, the armour is not done at all, only the sword is pretty much done.

I plan on experimenting with some OSL as well on these, as I've seen some great outcomes by others. And the very plain colourscheme makes a great contrast to the somewhat more extravagant look of the force weapons.

Hope you like it, there'll be more soon. And c&c are of course welcome.

The general idea was to make the swords stand out in this effect and make a good contrast to the metallic paintjob of the GKs and hopefully they will look great when shaded and highlighted a bit more dramatically, and if the OSL works out.

And yes, blessed be the airbrush

some more progress on the GK I made seven bases today(One of which is shown on the below pics), five for the termies, one for a termie librarian and the last one for brother captain stern.

For some reason the metallics look really rough on these pictures, might be something with my camera which aren't the greatest, I'll take some better ones once they're all done with my little brothers Canon eos500d (I'll lure him over with a dinner bribe probably :D )

I really like how your metal scheme came out. I've been having a hard time between choosing Blood Angels or Grey Knights as my loyalist force and there are so many great painters on here like yourself that have swayed me to the Grey ones... so I believe Ive made my decision.

Thanks :D I can without a doubt say that you'll be very satisfied with the GK's, the kits are great and even though the BAs are awesome (I have some of those too so I completely understand you) mine have been in my bits box since they came out, the GK's almost didn't get of the sprue before colliding with my glue and paints :P

There's just something about all those terminators and force weapons ;)

  • 2 weeks later...

Finally I've managed to get the whole squad to a point where it is worth photographing, they are still WIP as they need almost all of the detail done and a last highlight of silver on the last 4 of the squad. Hope you like them so far.

The best part of these pics is that you did the weapons in such a way that they actually reflect the sunlight in the picture! By the Emperor I hope there is more.

It's actually my kitchen lights ^_^ the pictures was taken around 1.30 in the morning <_<

But worry not my dear child of the emperor, there will be more. I have 7 of the metal GK termies, a librarian, Stern and 5 metal GK power armoured metal troops on the modelling table, so loads more swords and glowing eyes will come ;D

I hate you! For your masterfully done NMM on the blades, which I'm so jealous of. And the bases are very attractive as well, and the models as a whole are dripping with excellent-sauce. <_<

Hehe despite the hatred I'm glad you like them ^_^ And to be honest, the swords weren't that hard to do, an airbrush really is your best friend when doing stuff like this :)

I must agree with everyone else in saying that your work is exemplary and inspiring. I really like the scenic bases as well. May I ask what you made them with? I'd like to give it a try myself if you don't mind.

{palm to forehead} Still great no matter if it be the radiant sun or the almighty kitchen lights ;) .

Happy to hear you're doing more.

Wow, youve really given life to these miniatures with your painting skills. Seeing as GW's new move to increase the price of mini's :D I might go for a Grey Knight force since it wont be huge and wont eat my wallet. Cant wait to see more.

Thanks a lot guys! ;)

I'll be making a tutorial for the bases son for a Danish forum, and just did a tutorial for the force weapons. I'll translate them to English as soon as I get the time and post them here :P

And don't worry, There'll be more ;D

One more guy awaiting for those, here... :P

Oh, and if you do not mind, please explain all the process in the rest of the miniature: I mean, wich priming, metallic steps, washes (if any), etc.

Keep posting them ¡¡
