yes it does nova. again, i know its boring, but its a lot of bodies and decent AT (see: areas we struggle in for pure GK)

I'm know for making just aobut every 5++ TDA save I'm called on to make.

 

I'm also know for failing every 2+ TDA save I'm made to take form things like Bolt Pistols.

 

Like Hitler said... more ones than binary! Man did I feel for that one. I lost an entire squad of GKT one game to Tau pathfinders in a single round of shooting... man was I pissed when he rolled straight boxcars on wounding, and I rolled mutant snake eyes on saves.

and im sorry 6, i rarely disagree with you, but i still maintain my list will be a touch more effective overall.

No apology is ever necessary for disagreeing with me. :)

 

And I do agree: 40 Marines -- of any kind from any codex -- in a 1750 pt army list is a quality amount that is relatively difficult to remove.

superior tactics can win a game outright.. luck is fickle, you could roll well all game and fail that one instant death save on your 230 point HQ.. your not having bad luck but one dice roll can change everything.

some paper lists do better in practice, others do worse.. especially interwebz lists

 

Yeah, it can be amusing when the web-experts hold court and shout from the rooftops about their army and/or list being perfect and anything else is epic fail.

I twns to go for more exotic lists and go out of my way to smash "optimal" lists with my so-called "sub-par" armies.

 

 

Thats not what this thread was about though. It was about, all things being equal (ie, player skill, bad luck, good luck, what have you), does Deathwing walk all over GK no sweat? I think we all agree we have bad game that just dont go our way, we have games of total whoop butt, we make mistakes that cost us games sometimes. But the point was being pushed (at least from my take) that Wayland games think DW armies out match GK for the most part. To me it just sounded so utterly ridiculous that I couldn't believe anyone thought that. So I started this thread just to make sure I wasn't crazy and get others opinions on it. Again, its based off of codex power, not so much luck or skill.

LoL! I lost a GKBC to a squad of pathfinders, when he assaulted them in cover.

That... is... terribad. I'll assume what really happened is he got his foot lodged in a gopher hole and they just gunned him down.

Anythings possible with those guys... :)

5 to hit (AP1), double 6 (pre Rending Snipes) - Glance!. 6 on the table +AP1 = dumb look on both our faces.

 

We just figured one of them had managed to shoot thorugh the Dreads eye slit, into the poor marine within!

lost 2 termies to a retreating DE jetbike who just happened to be in rapid fire range :) . and yea, this post isn't a pissing match, its about the statement that DW are "immune to most of the GK new tricks". the silliness of that statement is pretty high. DW still use termies right? the same termies that die fairly well to weight of fire and power weapons? kinda what gk do pretty well.... B)

yea theres a lack there, but hopefully the vindicare can help out a bit once the dreads get them out of the transports :). a bit thin but thats what im going for.

my "best" termi save day was back in 4th ed. 11 termis [10 normal 1GM] charged by 7 NM and a chaos lord . My GM survives a druged up slany lord [str 8 on charge double re-roll on hit etc] , kills him . my opponent goes 0_0 . he puts 14 saves on normal termis . I fail 9 :) ... lord tests for fearless... triple 1 . my opponent and me both go 0_0.
Fair enough. ;)

 

Here's one of the lists I'm running at 1750 pts...

 

Similar structure to my all-comers list too. It's not what I'd use against this DW list but swap out the DK, Interceptors and SR for DCA+Crusader Henchmen (w/Chim), Purifiers (w/RB) and an LR and there it is. Oh and I guess I loose points on fluffiness for taking an XO Inq instead but what the hey! Top list, thanks for posting it! :P
