Foolio_Displasius
I want to magnetize the left hands of my Grey Knight Terminators, but am uncertain how best to do this. The issue is that the hands join to the wrists in kind of a "V" form instead of sitting flat against each other like most normal parts (e.g., the right hands). I see three basic options, and I'm torn about which would be easiest. Cut off/fill the V forms so they're flat, then do a "normal" magnetization job Magnetize just one "face" of the V forms Drill halfway into the existing V forms and magnetize them as-is I can MSPaint up some sample images if this would help illustrate what I'm thinking about. ShinyRhino
I'd shave a small area flat in the center of the V on the arm, and drill there to insert the magnet. Then drill into the same spot in the hand, and sink a magnet. Shaving the V flat in the center allows for a bit to grab without slipping on the peak of the V. You might also want to countersink the holes just a tiny bit, so the magnets sit slightly recessed. Rare earth magnets can overcome the tiny gap between their surfaces just fine.
