PA lightning claw

Recommended Posts

Im making my own count as Shrike cause I dont really like the model but Im having trouble finding both left and right power armour lightning claws, I know the commander plastic set comes with the left claw but not the right. Any ideas? Does any one know if the shrike metal model comes with arms attached or separate?

One of the Veterans boxes (sold as Vanguard on foot I think now..) has a model with two power claws attached to shoulder pads which could easily be transferred to another model. There are also models such as the Te,plar Sword Brethren with twin LCs but these are fixed and would have to be cut off...
The SW kit has several pairs of PA lightning claws. There is SW iconography on the right hand claw and a wolves skull on the left. These shouldn't be too difficult to remove or cover up.

The iconography is a pain to get rid of. it would be much easier to get a pair of termy lightning claws and trim down the arms so they fit into power armour shoulder pads.

Except that TDA claws are larger in the fist area than PA claws. Your claws end up looking like hamfists by the time you're done. ^_^

The Space Wolf claws aren't super-tough to clean up, if you've got a sharp blade, and some fine grit sandpaper. Add purity seals, Crus Terminatus, or some other decoration to the area nad it looks just fine.

sure no worries, ill post all the pics for different angles

the problem is that the wolf skull goes into the housing of the blades, so even if you clean them really well there will still be a big lump missing out of the housing.

You could always use the right space wolve wolf claw and the space marine commander left claw.

True. The Wolf right, and Commander left was the method at which I was aiming.

I converted a Terminator Lightning Claw for my magnetised Lamenters Captain.

I took a Terminator Claw, cut it off the terminator arm, hollowed out the fist slightly and put a small magnet into the hollowed out part which allowed it to slip over the right arm of the Captain and give him the option of twin lightning claws.

Go here for a montage of him with all his wargear:

They look fantastic! how did you make them?

i took one TDA claw arm, and cut them off at the knuckles, taking care to keep the 'lumps' on the back of the hand attached to the claws..

i then cut it in half and filed down the claws to be of equal size and dry fitted it to the back of each of the hands.

after that theres a lot of fiddling with shaving and refitting til i was happy, i then pinned and used greenstuff to rebuild thumbs and whatnot that was shaved down.

i guess you jut have to be brave and go for it ;)
