genesis_rhapsod0s
So I'm thinking about converting one of the old (read: metal) GK termies into an Inquisitor for the new dex. Any suggestions for the head/shoulderpads? I'd like to run Psycannon/Sword, but I'm not sure...thoughts? prozaczack
I did an inquisitor conversion a couple of years ago using a brother captain stern body. I cut a section from the shoulder pads and inserted a trimmed deathwatch shoulder pad. I used deathwatch because of the inquisitor symbols. It worked pretty well, had to fill some gaps with greenstuff though. I did pretty much the same thing for my new Inquisitor in TDA. http://www.bolterandchainsword.com/index.p...howtopic=228818 Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/229137-tda-inquisitor-conversion/#findComment-2748475 Share on other sites
genesis_rhapsod0s
Very nice. I'll upload a picture shortly of what model I'd like to use specifically. I have some of the Deathwatch PA shoulder pads, but no TDA unfortunately. genesis_rhapsod0s
The model I'd like to use. GK Termie Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/229137-tda-inquisitor-conversion/#findComment-2748580 Share on other sites
Loyalist
Unfortunately Inquisitors can't have TDA or psycannons. If you built a 'counts as' Coteaz model it would have artificer armour and a 2+ save. nurglez
ordo malleus Inquisitors can have terminator armour and psycannons  I was wanting to use one of the very old 2nd edition grey knight terminators for an Inquisitor, but I cant seem to find them in my bits box anymore... I had 2 that were similar to this one, but they seem to have become lost. http://www.peteandkellie.com/wh40k/images/eavy_metal/grey_k02.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/229137-tda-inquisitor-conversion/#findComment-2749006 Share on other sites
Gentlemanloser
Not only can OM Inquisitiors have both TDA and a Psycannon, they remian one of the cheapest HQs, and give a very stable 3W/Stubborn IC platform for them. ;) Solid choice all the way! nurglez
on a slightly related note, due to this thread I looked one last time and managed to find both of my 1989 grey knight models, thanks! Loyalist
Oops! I was looking at the Xenos and Hereticus stats and missed the TDA and psycannon options for the Ordo Malleus Inquisitor. I converted a High Marshal Helbrecht figure to an inquisitor a couple of years ago by removing the Black Templars insignia and adding 54mm Eisenhorn Inquisition sigils. He's as big as a terminator, the armour could pass for TDA and he comes equipped with a (force) sword and combi-melta. The model will make a good TDA Ordo Malleus inquisitor. Wastelander
Speaking of TDA Inquisitors, today I decided to make one (using my spare Terminator bitz) and I'm quite confused with which head should I give him. You guys have any ideas? A SMT/GKT (helmet) one, sergeant one, etc.? You guys have any ideas? A SMT/GKT (helmet) one, sergeant one, etc.? If it were me i would use an un helmeted head, The GKT helmets are too distinctive as are the regular terminator helmets, you would run the risk of it looking like a regular terminator/ grey knight with a different paint scheme. With a bare head you won't be distracted from your wargear/ symbols etc that denote inquisitor status. Wastelander
Thanks. I might opt to give him the bare one with the breathing mask, he'll look just *wrong*. ;-) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/229137-tda-inquisitor-conversion/#findComment-2749536 Share on other sites

Eorek
Forgeworld, lord hector rex... Exchange the stormshield with a psycannon(I'd use the old tin one for a more unique model) ... Then you can keep the sword or put whatever weapon you want on him... I got a hard time thinking of a easier and more awesomelooking conversion Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/229137-tda-inquisitor-conversion/#findComment-2749632 Share on other sites
Chairman_woo
Something I knocked up last week: http://i897.photobucket.com/albums/ac172/chairman_woo/Grey%20Knights/Inquisitor/hdr_00031_0.jpg It's a normal plastic termie body & legs. The psycannon is just a stormbolter with a psycannon front end and some random linkage gubbinz from the ravenwing box. The shoulder pads are shin plates for a dreadnaught (also spares from ravenwing kit) cut down slightly at the back to make them fit. The books and the "big I "are mostly just paladin icons with the pole bit sliced off so they just look like books. The HDH is from the power armour kit as its very marginally smaller than the termie one. I have also trimed down the torso and head joints to make him seem a wee bit shorter to try and emphasise that he's not a marine inside all that armour. Some food for thought anyway. Edit: here's a pic from behind so you can see the shoulder pads http://i897.photobucket.com/albums/ac172/chairman_woo/Grey%20Knights/Inquisitor/hdr_00032_0.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/229137-tda-inquisitor-conversion/#findComment-2750016 Share on other sites
Zhukov
I made one too: -Plastic GKT body. -Coteaz his hammer. -A non-helmet Blood Angel head. (I think one from the Sanguinary Guard box, but not sure) The smaller Hammer of Coteaz and the head simply make him look more like an Inquistor instead of a GKT juticar.
