Opinions on SW short stories?

Recommended Posts

Hello brothers,

I am looking for all the lore I can collect on the Wolves to flesh out my knowledge of our glorious Legion and I'm just wondering if I could get a little information on the short stories contained within both Legends of the Space Marines and Victories of the Space Marines (dos Heroes of the Space Marines contain a Wolf story as well?).

Could someone give me an approximate number of pages for these stories as well as their opinion on them? I shall acquire them in due time but I'm wondering if I should invest now (because I am a lore addict) or whether there are other things I should spend my money on (like components for my PC project XD)

Cheers.

I'll check when I get home from work. I got them (all three) to read the shorts on the Deathwatch but intend to eventually read them in their entirety. Too much else in the queue at the moment. I'll confirm one way or the other in a couple of hours if nobody does so before then.

Well in Legends there is the story "Twelve Wolves" by Ben Counter, 30 pages. It plays in our current time frame but is about the time when the 1k Sons attacked the Fang, good read, some lore fleshing out the mythical wolves who give name to our Great Companies.

In Victories there's "Runes" by Chris Wraight, 42 pages. Not entirely sure about when it's happening, but that's not of too much import either. Good story, good read, yet no lore in it.

Best short story about wolves with lore in it for me is "Wolf at the door" from tales of heresy, the author's name escaped me just now.

Hope this sheds some light in the right direction.
