Thanks for the ale Jonas!

About the helmet thing, the great Wolflord Brokk Direwolf has taught his great company how to disengage the air lock on our helmets. That way we still benefit from our sense of smell, and don't have to worry so much about the occasional lucky head shot.

Cheers!

Doesn't account for the loss of hearing. Everything's muffled in a helmet.. like you're underwater.

...and what are the rule sets for the rest of us youngbloods??

Thanks for the ale Jonas!

you don't understand the point i made and maybe i should look up the exact quote i've already made a thousand times but in wolfs honour ragnar also wears his helmet first when entering the hulk. once they are sure they can breath sqafely they all cuickly hang it to their belt/wherever they keep it since spaces wolves have more augmented senses then the augmented senses the helmet provides. the wearing of a helmet is therefor normal in situations where they need it (like floating through space etc) but otherwise in general declined

I think that we are still trying to figure out where everyone else lands at the moment. Entertaining nonetheless. Keep up the great work on the special rules though. They make great sense.

When moving into the thick of it you shouldn't stick youre head out to much.

If you're uncertain, it's simply best not to be seen at all... *malevolently devious smirk*

@hendrik: Even though I agree with that bit of fluff, as has been pointed out in numerous threads, bits of fluff doesn't always match up. If Eric the Green subscribes to a different bit of fluff, we can't really argue it.

Looking around, there's been a lot more pups coming out of the woodwork. What's the current roster at? (too lazy to count it myself =P )

Is there anything so wrong with wanting to be sticky with blood? I love fighting until my grey armour is red with the stuff!

In all seriousness, I kind of moved onto fantersy for now, the friends who were going to join me backed out so without a local rival I couldn't be bothered. Which is fair, because it's given me plenty of time to paint. Gentic blood claw 101 anyone?

@Hendrik: Think I must be on about 1/10 chance by now. Give me time and I'll annoy the one ;-)

@Mavs Girl: Lots of options with kill team too. One pack against all ;-) would give me and Arez furious charge if within 2" coherency.

@lots of others: I've lost count of how many new names I've seen on this thread and don't take it personally if no one has thrown special rules out for you yet. You just need to make more of a nuisance (beaten round the head by Hendrik), sorry, name for yourself on this forum. Adding insight or taking part in tales. The more the merrier and we don't bite usually ;-)

now that bitting part I dont believe

Well may as well throw my name in here too. Can't say I'm a competitive player, but have collected a large chunk of the available models so as to be versatile in lists. As far as who I'd be, Iron Priest, being a physicist and former engineer...

wrong pup, you'd be a bloodclaw, just like all the other pups! :D it takes more then that to become an iron priest, first you'll have to make it into the grey hunters and only then you might be able to join the iron priest their ranks :D

Unless you smell like chicken, elk, meat, mead, ale, eldar, enemy, food in general.....your safe.

not fair I always smell like mead I am an asatori

what is an astatori

an asatori is someone who follows the asatru faith

and the asatru faith is the faith of the Asen(earthgods)

Who are basicly the patrongods in lemen terms of the Vikings.

So to the basic I am a viking.

and within the asatru culture I am a runemaster

I understand your point, and have read the book in question. Simply invoking my Russ given right to do things my way, if you have a problem with it we can settle it in the time honored tradition of Fenris *throws chair*

Ahh, nice to see I have still managed to stay below the radar. I like my carapace armor personally; meltabombs, Stalker bolt rounds...I'm good occasionally sneaking into list threads and helping out the Claws with their lists. My Jarl is fond of scouts with a fair helping of Heavy Support. Using the Pre-Heresy color scheme; and if he got his way would have Mars (Forgeworld) send him enough Mk 3 armor and Heresy weapons to outfit everybody with it.

I was a smith from the Floridan Isles, far from the Fang. But being a member of the Guild of Smiths, I have journeyed far to the Iron Isles to work as an apprentice under Assar Gabrielsson, Forgemaster and keeper of the secrets of the Rhino chassis. I have passed the Test of the Iron Gauntlet and proved my courage in the Wolf Head Forge. I have undergone the Blooding, fought my way back to the Fang and am now awaiting my pilgrimage to Mars. That is why I am here with the other Bloodclaws - to hone my fighting skills and learn the weapons and hone my battle skills. So, yes, I am not a full Iron Priest, but neither am I only a Bloodclaw.

@FenrisWolf. I see lurkers, as Fenris tribesmen waiting to be taken to the land of the gods, in hopes to become one of the sky warriors for the Wolf King. EVERYONE, starts as a Blood Claw. You can't be neither Iron Priest or Blood Claw... if that's the case then your just a frozen fly on the wall *jokes* better a frozen fly than an ice bears *BLEEP* :)

FenrisWolf's account of his apprenticeship is accurate and blends the 2E fluff with the 5E fluff pretty well, however there is no account written that says an apprentice-turned-initiate joins the ranks of the Blood Claws. By all accounts, once the initiate returns from their pilgrimage to Mars, he is inducted directly into the ranks of the Iron Priests and will likely spend several years within the Fang, acquainting themselves with the machinery within, before being given the opportunity to walk the battlefield.

I'll make one assumption regarding when they have their physical training, and that would be during the phase of their apprenticeship when they are watched over by both their master Iron Priest and an inquisitive Wolf Priest. Nothing, however, mentions how the recruit reacts to the Canis Helix, nor how he manages his bloodlust, but I would speculate all the bio-mechanical implants and modifications somehow suppress the urges (with the exception of wolf-bitten recruits who are dealt with in other ways).

Either way, I do not think it accurate for FenrisWolf to claim his joining the ranks of the Claws when combined with the previous story of his apprenticeship on the Isles of Iron.
