Counts As Terminator/Upgraded Power armor?

Recommended Posts

Hello B&C,

I'm currently amassing all the pieces for my Grey Knights C.A. army, and I have a question the modeler's in here may help me work through. In my army I only have one guy wearing Terminator armor, and am looking for a way to put him in something that doesn't stick out as much but also will follow the WYSIWYG format so he won't be disqualified from tourneys nor give opposing players fits because they don't realize he's not just a P.A. trooper.

Has anyone pulled something like this off before, or have any ideas? I'm not bad at all when it comes to converting but my green stuff skills are a little basic.

That is the point of WYSIWYG - so your opponent will be able to clearly see what wargear each model has. If you only have one model in TDA in the whole army, then he should stick out or he won't be WYSIWYG.

I know this. I'm looking for a way so he still looks like he is in heavier armor, but not using the TDA armor. Purely aesthetics, I'm not trying to fool anyone so they can't tell that guy is in 2+/5++ kit.

In all honesty, I'd put him aside and paint a mini in the appropriate armour, on the appropriate sized base, etc.

Alternatively, if you really wanted to pursue this conversion you might be able to give him a standard marine helmet (not the termie one), shave his back down and glue a back pack on, and rebase him onto a small base.
