elithren
So, I'm going to post up batreps and pics of my wolves here in a bit, still need to figure out how to take decent pics of models. But, I'm still going to get a batrep uploaded today against Grey Knights that happened last night, they got their buts handed to them but thanks to some gay interpretations of the rules, it ended in a draw. I'll probably keep it all in this post and have it be my own little piece of Fenris, but so you guys know, my color scheme is very different cause I'm the last of the wolf brothers! lol Any suggestions on taking pics would be great fyi. elithren
As promised, time for my battle report, but the pics will have to uploaded later when I find my cord to the camera. So, 2k point game against Grey knights. My list: Ragnar 240 Rune priest with LL and MH, Beastslayer and WTT 115 4 wolf guards 179 3 combi meltas and TH 1 combi plasma and PF Wolf scouts 100 5 man, meltagun and MofW Dreadnaught 140 Plasma cannon, EA, WTN Grey hunters Pack Haldir 180 8 man, meltagun, MofW, Standard, Drop pod Pack Surn 170 8 man, meltagun, MofW, Drop pod Pack Fraet 180 9 man, plasma gun, Drop pod TWC Pack 1 155 2 man, SS and FB on one, normal other Pack 2 160 2 man, SS and TH on one, normal other. Pack 3 100 1 man, SS and WC Long Fangs Pack missile - 115 5 man, 4 ML Pack plasma cannon - 155 5 man, 4 plasma cannons His List: Crowe Grand Master Vindicare Bare bone dread with MM. 3 troops of purifiers, 10 man, 5 haldberds, 1 hammer, 4 psycannons 1 7 man squad of terminators, 1 incinerator, 7 halberds with land raider crusader w/ MM (this is from my head so excuse any errors) Setting: Table corners, 5 objectives I got deployment first and set up everything in the furthest corner that I could, which was a tower ruins( almost bursting with my guys lol). One objective was placed in the tower, two more 18 inches from it towards the center and the right side of the table. He deployed on objective in his corner and another in about the center of the field on top of a hill. His guys combat squaded to try and spread my shots, all behind the said hill, while his vindicare infiltrated to some cover close to the the center objective on my side. Turn 1 He fails to seize the ini. so I shuffle my guys around slightly, mainly moving my TWC groups to different angles to give them a good charge shot when he came closer. My Dread advanced on the vindicare and unloaded on him with the plasma. 4 krak missiles, 4 plasma cannon shots (one long fang was too drunk to shoot his gun) and an angry gesture later, the vindicare was no more. Also, I dropped two empty drop pods just north of the center to give his crusader a hard time getting around to me. My rune priest, having line of sight through the pod gap, LL the dread with 5 shots, penetrating once, and wrecked it. He begins to move people around, the LRC moving 12 towards the center objective on hill, Crowe hiding behind. He shoots at the drop pods but doesn't do anything to them. With nothing else to do, he runs his guys towards the hill and ends turn. Turn 2 Scouts fail to come on, other drop pod lands right on his back corner objective to mess with it. My lone TWC moves up, eyes fixed on crowe, with my dread in tow, he looking to crush some land raider goodness. Plasma cannons shots fire on crowe but scatter into the squads behind the hill, the frag missiles doing the same, killing a total of 4 grey knights, 3 of which are psycannons. LL fails to do anything to crowe, while the rest of my wolves shuffle forward, anticipating the assault. He moves his LRC up 12 and tries to MM my dread, missing horribly. Crowe follows in tow, 2 of the squad topping the hill and taking the objective while one moves south and around. The last one heads north and the last two try to deal with the drop pod on his objective. His psycannons open fire on my drop pods, shaking being the worst done, and he charges the one on his objective, only to fail do to anything to it. I'll post the rest in a couple of hours, guys. Sorry for the cliff hanger. Also, pics to follow when I figure that out..... elithren
Turn Three My scouts fail to come on again....My movement consists of my wolf moving around the LRC to charge Crowe and my dread charges the LRC, hoping to smash it. Frag missiles and plasma cannons (1 long fang killed himself) fly into the hill and continue to wittle down the grey knights. The lone TWC charges crowe, who then uses hammerhand to try and hurt me but ended up doing the parry set after finding that I can reroll to hit or to wound on my claws. 3 rerolls later, crowe lies dead on the ground, my TWC moving to take the hilltop. The dread fails to do anything to the LRC. He moves his LRC around to get a rear shot with the MM, but again misses. His knights advance up the hill and then proceed to drop my lone TWC with focused fire, and I mean alot of shots, 7 armor saves and 2 invuln (curse you psycannons). He succeeds to wreck the drop pod contesting his objective. Here is the pic during his turn three http://i1047.photobucket.com/albums/b471/elithren/DSC05432.jpg Turn Four My wolf scouts finally come in and I roll a 6 for them, Joy! I have them come on from my table edge and are withing melta range of the LRC. My dread moves to chase it as well. My other two groups of TWC begin to move up and get some action of their own. Shooting ends with more greys dead on the hill and the LRC exploding from the wolf guard's combi melta. Range was only one inch but of the 7 guys inside, 3 die (Forgot to mention that he had Thawn in there, who is pictured as lying down cause he "died"). I then proceed to assault them with the dread and wolf scouts. That combat was epic in that the psychotroke grenades roll a 6, and my powerfist WG and MofW both fail their ini test and end up attacking my own scouts! Luckily the halberds inflict a wound on the scouts, with I op to kill of the MofW, me needing the fist to kill the GM next round. The dread kills off a termie and then the powerfist gloriously kills off one of his own scouts. Combat ends with the dread lock and the scouts running due to the psychopathic killing of one of their own by the pack leader. End of my turn four http://i1047.photobucket.com/albums/b471/elithren/DSC05438.jpg He moves his hammer squad around the hill and down towards the dread combat, while he tries to keep the hill with the last squad of purifiers. The dread continues to be awesome and drop another termie, who hold. http://i1047.photobucket.com/albums/b471/elithren/DSC05439.jpg Turn five My wolves move up and fleet closer to the squad up north, next to the wrecked pod. Shooting ends with the purifiers running off the hill from casualties. My TWC charges the north squad and, thanks to my rune priest cancelling the force weapon test, end with a the grey knights dead and 1 wound on one of my TWC packs. The dread continues to be awesome and drop another termie, who hold. http://i1047.photobucket.com/albums/b471/elithren/DSC05442.jpg He unloads on my the wounded TWC with a 4 psycannon squad and made them break after killing the wounded one. The hammer squad gets into the combat, but the hammer fails to do anything to the dread. Nothing happens in the dread combat, Thawn gets back up, though. Turn Six My TWC regroups and then goes to join in on the dread combat. Shooting does nothing, my other TWC pack charges the running greys to finish them off. TWC proceed to annihilate the greys up north, but I lose the dread combat due to my dread blowing up from the hammer and the TWC dying to the GM. The 3 squads then considate to the middle objective in my corner. http://i1047.photobucket.com/albums/b471/elithren/DSC05445.jpg He positions his guys to charge the GH holding the objective with Thawn and the GM + termie, while the hammer purifier moved to contest. Due to some poor planning on my part, the defenders react rule results with my guys being pulled off the objective and giving it to his purifiers. http://i1047.photobucket.com/albums/b471/elithren/DSC05447.jpg Turn Seven My shooting fails to lodge the purifiers cause they miss horribly, another long fang overheating his gun and dying. My TWC charge to his objective but fall short. The combat results in a loss, the GM falling to the TH WG, and hold. He goes to combat cause he knows that is what matters for this game. He drops a few more GH and I fail to do anything but hold still. http://i1047.photobucket.com/albums/b471/elithren/DSC05450.jpg Game ends in a draw. Overall, fun game and I knew how to play to his weakness, lack of range. Just poor positioning on my point cost me the win. elithren
Well, the annoying thing about this game was the fact that I didnt take more ranged fire power lol. It is a little annoying that Thawn gets back up, which is how he managed to tie up the GH squad on the objective.
