soddinnutter
The encountering of the micro-cult would best work if the Chapter encountered them after they are afflicted with the loss of a bility to recruit in the normal manner (assuming you are going down this road). They could be down to their last 400 marines and not one of them under 250 Terran Standard Years old. They would be desperate. And the micro-cult would be desperate, stranded in inter-stellar space with no Warp capabilities or Astropath. It would be decades before any sort of non-psychic message reached help. Then the Dragons drop out of the Warp 1.7 Light Years away from the micro-cult. The cult have been out in the void for nearly 2 years constantly broadcasting a plea for help. So the chapter hears it. And goes to investigate. But I would avoid calling the fleet of such a micro-cult an Explorator Fleet. The difference is that migrants are not searching out old worlds and dead civilisations, boldly going where the Ancients have gone before. Meybe the micro-cult Magos get some sort of vision, he then declares himself a Magos Explorator? Takeing himself and his cult on a quest for knowledge, searching high and low across the known galaxy for lost Standard Template Constructs and ancient knowledge. Something goes wrong? They get attacked? Leaving them stranded.. :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/229206-ia-dragons-of-the-void/page/3/#findComment-2800374 Share on other sites
