greatest primarch bodyguards

Recommended Posts

This is all going to come down to a matter of opinion, at best. It would have been better to ask which group exemplifies their bodyguard role the best, or something, but even then, that's a hazy question. Irregardless, I'm leaning toward the Scarab Occult, what with their sorcerous powers alloyed with their elite fighting abilities, imho. :)

They did a really good job protecting magnus from russlol

Say what you like about the other legions but there all dead and bjorn the fell handed is still around kicking ass and taking names, so my vote would go to wolfguard.

Eh.... plenty of traitors still stomping the galaxy too.... without the aid of a metal box.

hiding in the warp you mean.

Do we really need a versus thread for every single aspect of 30k? Coming next week, "Who's the greatest remembrancer?"

Now you've said, I've noticed alot of vs threads when I normally glaze over most of them. I do think there are too many of these, it's just poor men's polls and B&C doesn't allow proper ones. :)

The only answer ever is "whichever one features in the current story, and needs to do X to advance the plot/look cool". 40k is a mass of contradictory sources, so the only purpose these threads serve is to act as an e-peen measuring competition, with everyone going "The bodyguard of Primarch X is best, because of Y!", only to be responded to with "Nah-ah! In book A, the bodyguard of Primarch B did C and D, which obviously makes them superior to X!" "Nah-ah! In book T, X did K, which makes them even better than B and all the rest combined!"

Questions like these are so subjective that trying to answer them is pointless. Can we please stop these versus threads? They accomplish nothing but pointless boasting. They are the scourge of forums, better only than first-ers and trolls.

I haven't seen a firster on here since, well, forever. But that's irrelevant. I second the point made by Caerolion. This is point scoring, essentially, not a reasoned discussion or debate.

(Yes, I do realise the hypocrisy of having contributed and condemned, but my first post goes along these lines anyway, so, whatever.)

They're all pretty much exactly the same.

What he said. We also don't have enough information on all of them yet. We know about quite a few but the Raven Guard's and Salamander's bodyguards have only been given background mentions, we know nothing of the Iron Warriors or Night Lords ones and little about those in the Ultramarines save for that they exist.

At this point in time however, I would say the Iron Hands Morlocks. Due to the fact they managed to fight their way non stop through the traitor's ranks in the battle which claimed the life of Ferrus Manus and it took noise marines on steroids to bring them all down, they seem to be the ones to display the most skill thus far. I'm sure more or less any of the bodyguards would have been able to do the same thing, if using somewhat different tactics.

Agreed. Coming soon: "Who's the greatest Legion serf?" Personally I would go with Septimus of the Night Lords. He's quite badass!

agreed. he owns his own gunship.
