greatest primarch bodyguards

Recommended Posts

if the Emperor is classed as a primarch

But he isn't, he's classed as the Emperor. Why would he be classed as a Primarch? The Custodians are bred through a separate process that requires no gene-seed, and each one is made from separate DNA sources, thus they share no brotherly link.

Anyway, I'd like to echo the sentiment that the best bodyguard is the one featuring in the book you're reading.

They're all pretty much exactly the same.

They're all pretty much exactly the same.

I will say this basic, tedious truth until the stars themselves are no more than cold, cold memories.

But is that merely Propaganda, or is it actually the Truth? Or maybe its an Alpha Legion ploy to lul the Imperium into a false sense of security...

Mwah-ha-ha-ha.....!

But seriously - they're all the same. Lets not keep ADB here typing the same post again and again when his keyboard could be put to much better use writing more BL goodness (even if it is about filthy Heretics and Traitors who owe us 1 Dreadnought).

(edit - amusing spelling error)

Do we really need a versus thread for every single aspect of 30k? Coming next week, "Who's the greatest remembrancer?"

Gotta be Keeler..... :)

Actually, the greatest remembrancer of the Crusade was Solomon Voss. ;) ;)

Keeler was hawt before she turned all monk-looking. <3 But Karkasy was a heavy drinker, drunk enough to survive a lynching by frustrated guardsman. Gotta respect a man who takes his drink seriously.

Yes Karskay was a good remembrancer, and an alcoholic but that didn't stop a bullet going through his head. Sindermann on the other hand brilliant remembrancer/mentor to Loken, I vote Sindermann because he almost killed Maggard the mute bastard.

Greatest bodyguard anything but the smurfs.

So the question should be amended, if they are all the same, which I agree with. Instead of saying which is the "greatest Primarch bodyguards", it should be who has the most strikingly brilliant (insert adjective of ones own choosing) bunch of elite guys who like to look at their Primarchs arse all day?

But on a more serious note, the greatest bodyguards would totally have to be ones of the missing legions. They are so butt kickingly awesome the imperium won't even mention them or seem to find them... Obviously no one screws with that level of win. They are so cool they could eat necrons and pooped out nids.

Okay, so far we have:

Angron's Devourers

Horus's Mournival

Night Haunters's

Fulgrim's Phoenix Guard

Ferrus Manus's guys, who's name I can't recall at the moment.

Roboute Guilliman's Honour Guard

Sanguinius's Sanguinary Guard

Leman Russ's Wolfguard

Magnus's Scarab Occult

Alpharius's Effrit Stealth Squad

Mortarion's Death Shroud

Vulkan's Pyre Guard

But my vote? Probably Fulgrim's guys. The Phoenix Guard.

Why, you ask? Because his bodyguards killed all of Ferrus Manus's bodyguards.

That just proves that Manus' gaurds were not the best; it does not mean that the Phoenix Guard were. :P

Yeah, but see, they at least did something memorable. What did Night Haunters's guys do? Stand around, watch him get killed, chase the assassin, and then two of them pop up 10000 years later and have an inconclusive fight.

Most of the bodyguard units don't even have names yet.

Weren't the Phoenix Guard the guys that were getting killed left and right the whole book other than the blindsiding of the Morlock's? I think they were the ones that had an entire unit of them wiped out by a Wraithlord.

Okay, so far we have:

Angron's Devourers

Horus's Mournival

The Mournival are a cadre of four senior Captains that act as Horus' advisors and, to a lesser degree, his conscience.

The Sons of Horus 1st Company Elite are the Justaerin.

Night Haunters's

I haven't had a chance to read Savage Weapons yet, would someone who has, or better still A D-B himself :D, be able to shed any light on whether Curze or the Lion's bodyguard units are named?

Fulgrim's Phoenix Guard

Ferrus Manus's guys, who's name I can't recall at the moment.

The Morlocks

Roboute Guilliman's Honour Guard

Sanguinius's Sanguinary Guard

Leman Russ's Wolfguard

Magnus's Scarab Occult

Alpharius's Effrit Stealth Squad

Mortarion's Death Shroud

Vulkan's Pyre Guard

You forgot Dorn's Templars.

Night Haunter's guys do have a title, I just cant remember it. Thought by leaving it blank it'd jog my memory.

Named ones:

Talonmaster Zso Sahaal

Axemaster Krieg Acerbus

Also, the best remembrancer was the sculpture guy from the book Fulgrim. Lifesized perfectly sculpted statue of the Emperor, in pure white marble from the Imperial Palace itself, that managed to somehow hold the entire universe in his eyes. I imagine the detailing must have been hell on that last part.
