spu00sed
Had a 1250pt game today with my custodians against Orks. I took: Grand master Halberd Psycannon Rad grenades Psychotroke grenades Blind grenades Empyrean Brain Mines Librarian Halberd Psybolt rounds Might of Titan Shrouding Warprift 6 Companions (count as Paladins) – NOTE: I forgot I had 6 and only took 5 All with halberds Psycannon Psybolt rounds 5 Grey Knight Strikes All with halberds Pysbolt rounds 5 Grey Knight Strikes All with halberds Pysbolt rounds Vindicare He took: Warboss with mega armour and some stuff 29 boyz Nob 3 big shootas 29 Boyz Nob 2 big shootas 1 Rokkit 9 Nob bikers All with power klaws All with cybork bodies Pain boy So two armies built around their deathstars. We rolled up Implacable Advance and I took the part of the Necrons. I took the Shield of Blades grand strategy and my companions gained counter charge I played one strike squad on my objective, with the other strike squad forwards and to their left. My characters went in the Companions who took the right flank, deploying behind a ruined wall. The Vindicare set up on the third floor of a ruined building. The Orks deployed the bikers against my left, the rokkit and shoota mob in the centre and the other mob with the warboss against my right. Turn 1 I shift my entire army to the left, with both strike squads shuffling and the Companions moving as fast as they can. This allowed me to target my entire armies shooting at the centre mob, without cover getting in the way. The vindicare sighted the Nob and fired a Turbo round, the bounced off of its armour. The rest of the Custodians opened up and felled 12 Orks. The Orks replied by advancing on mass. The middle mob moved to try to get behind some ruins as well as advance. Whilst the warboss’ mob charged sidewise to get closer to the Emperor’s finest. The Bikers Gunned forwards 12” ready to unleash their twin linked dakka. All three mobs opened fire on the companions, who bravely waded through the solid slugs, with only a single member falling to a rokkit striking his helmet. Turn 2 The companions advanced towards the bikers, whilst the strike squads shuffled to regain sight on the middle mob. Killing a further 8, though the remaining 9 passed their break test. The Vindicare sighted the nob on the other mob and again failed to kill it. The companions opened fire on the bikers and killed 1 and wounded a second. They then charged the nob bikers. The Psychotrokes allowed me to reroll to hit (forgot to use the brain mine). The grand master failed to cast hammer hand, but the Librarian showed him how it was done and cast both hammer hand and Might of Titan. The Grand master killed a single Biker and the Librarian killed the wounded Biker. The Companions then caused 8 wounds and activated their nemesis force weapons wiping out the remaining bikers. They then consolidated into a line betwixt the strike squads and the advancing Orks. At that point my opponent conceded. Oiad
Take it that the Vindicare wasn't exactly the MVP of the game? ;) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/229269-1250pts-vs-orks/#findComment-2750464 Share on other sites
spu00sed
Take it that the Vindicare wasn't exactly the MVP of the game? :P Ranked after the terrain :) Though my next game was me running a Black crusade against Ultramarines and he slagged a Landraider and a Predator in three shots. Vindicares are not anti infantry weapons. :D Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/229269-1250pts-vs-orks/#findComment-2750480 Share on other sites
RedMoon
how did he fail to kill the nob, just not wounding? how could he not pen the armor of the nob its ap 1 and all you have to do is wound and the 2 wound one will kill him out right. Two attempts to wound on a 4 plus, two fails. How turbo penetrators can not kill a Nob but can easily kill a Land Raider is beyond me. Not as bad as my second battle. 6 armour saves on a 5 man strike squad, six 1s. The whole store came over to check my dice. Cpt. Blood Donator
I think you activated the NFW at the wrong time xD Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/229269-1250pts-vs-orks/#findComment-2750551 Share on other sites
spu00sed
I think you activated the NFW at the wrong time xD Couldn't activate earlier Grand master failed his one casting attempt Librarian used both if his to allow me to hit on 2+ The plan was to allow the Paladins to use the ID of the NFW, they had the most attacks. The Gm and Libby were there to ensure that the Pallies killed things.
