Some truly incredible stuff here, to have a high quality paint job in such numbers. I can barely bring myself to paint a dozen models in a year laugh.png

Blood Angels were my first 40k love as a kid, and it always makes me happy to see them done some proper justice smile.png

The basing is a tad lackluster, though.

Care to write up your red and gold recipes?

Care to write up your red and gold recipes?

Of course!

For the red: base of blood red and devlan mud in hollow, and light orange to profile.

For the gold: base of old shinnig gold, and ogryn flesh in hollow

I salute you!

A little tutorial:

Specifically you must have to see only the abdominal armor, which is what I have painted from steps 4-7.'s The steps I follow are:
Step 1: Base, Red Cadm.Berme. (Model Color 70909)

http://i1225.photobucket.com/albums/ee397/Sangrianor/Paso1_zps2ddec7e3.jpg
Step 2: Blood red

http://i1225.photobucket.com/albums/ee397/Sangrianor/Paso2_zps42f68425.jpg
Step 3: second layer of Blood red
http://i1225.photobucket.com/albums/ee397/Sangrianor/Paso3_zpsa19ebb8d.jpg
Step 4: (only in the gaps) Devlan mud
http://i1225.photobucket.com/albums/ee397/Sangrianor/Paso4_zpsf4851287.jpg
Step 5: Second layer (only in the gaps) of Devlan mud.

http://i1225.photobucket.com/albums/ee397/Sangrianor/Paso5_zps2a6b37cc.jpg
Step 6: Third layer of Blood red
http://i1225.photobucket.com/albums/ee397/Sangrianor/Paso6_zpsa626f5bb.jpg
Step 7: orange lights, in my case I use of Model Color 70956

http://i1225.photobucket.com/albums/ee397/Sangrianor/Paso7_zps1641043e.jpg

That pot of Devlan Mud is getting awfully low. Gonna be a shame when it dries up. I ran out of Badab Black not too long ago myself.

Sad, sad days. cry.gif

Anyway, kinda surprised that's all there is to your red. Simple, but it works great. I could make that a lot easier on myself using an airbrush for the red coats, so that's encouraging smile.png

Did you prime it gray? The demonstration model looks like it isn't even primed at all huh.png

No, is not prime in gray, is GW´s plastictongue.png . I never prime the plastic miniatures, I paint directly with the base color (for example, look the #76 of the 4th page of this post)

That's...odd. Especially given the uncooperative colors you use. Guess it works, though. mellow.png
