Chengar Qordath
Using an Ordo Xenos Inquisitor to add rad and/or psychotroke grenades to a cc-focused unit for a very low point cost seems to be a popular option. Vash
All depends on what your goal is really. And how the rest of the army is kitted. For close combat units, I would add rad grenades, and if the unit doesn't have hammerhand, which the inquisitor joins, then I would add that too. A nice unit that I am thinking of is 6 death cults, 5 crusaders, and the inquisitor. Rad grenades and hammerhand to boost the unit. Death cults strike at ini 6 with a ton of attacks, and if there are any survivours, the crusaders step in and take the hits with thier 3++ shields. Of course they can strike back too. These would be mounted in a chimera. If attached to a terminator unit, I would consider anti plasma wargear (can't remember name). Power weapon and needle pistol. jmach
I usually add rad nades, power armor, then give him hammerhand or sometimes psychic communion if I'm running a deepstrike list and attach him to a unit of purifiers in a low points game. If I go with some deepstrikes I'll give him servo-skulls as well for cheap. spartan249
I run him cheap with a power sword, psycho grenades, and rad nades. Cheap HQ, effective at his job, and unlocks henchmen, who pack a hell of a punch. thornz
102 Points Ordo Xenos Inquisitor with : Combi Melta - We lack Melta as a whole army so 10 pts is an ok investment Power Armour - Keep em alive a little longer 3x Servo Skulls - Cheepest SS in the book and keep nasty infiltrators at bay Psycher lvl 1 - Mostly for Psychic Com. OR HH dependant on type of army you play Rad Grenades - Best wargear option in codex! Psycostroke Grenades - Cool! This is the best all round Bang for you Bucks HQ options in the Codex I think, so much so I run 2! Sothalor
How've people's experiences with the Plasma Syphon been? Useful? Too situational? Waste of points? Wildfire
Depends on the rest of your army. They're so customizable that I can't really answer without knowing a bit more. Marmande
Psyker Upgrade (Hammerhand) and Rad Grenades are a girl's Purifier's best friend. If I have extra points, priority goes: -Psychotroke Grenades -Power Armor -Digital Weapons But that setup definitely leans in a more CC direction. Chengar Qordath
How've people's experiences with the Plasma Syphon been? Useful? Too situational? Waste of points? I would say it's a bit too situational for a generic all-comers list, but if your local meta tends towards lots of plasma then it's a good buy. Freman Bloodglaive
My second HQ is an Ordo Xenos Inquisitor with hammerhand, Rad grenades and power armour. For 78 points he acts as a good squad support. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/229432-ordo-xenos-inquisitors/#findComment-2753031 Share on other sites
Larkyn
I'm a little surprised (and concerned) that no one has listed the conversion beamer yet. Quite the fire support unit all on his own with that baby. Although, it is significantly more expensive than other options. Quite the fire support unit all on his own with that baby. Although, it is significantly more expensive than other options. It can work alright, but he doesn't mesh that well with anything other than a supporting unit of Jokaero and/or Gun Servitors. That's a nice firebase, but it can get a bit expensive and isn't very durable. That's not to mention that unless you get lucky with your Jokaero rolls, the ideal range for your Conversion Beamer puts every weapon other than Lascannons out of range. For what my opinion's worth, the Conversion Beamer works best on a relentless platform; the mobility is key to keeping your enemies from closing in on a weapon that needs to be most of a table-length away from what it's targetting to really shine. The Beamer is a fine weapon, but there are better options.
