Xyon
So I'm working on a LRC. I don't like the look of a gunner popping out the top to man the Multimelta, so I'm trying to convert it to look like its either fired from the inside or through some automation. So far I've got a paper clip added to the mounting to keep it in place and make it look like a hydraulic rod. What I'm having trouble with the end of the gun, where normally the shield and handles would be. I tried to reproduce the kind of casing you'd see on the assault cannon or even hurricane bolters on the LRC, but I've gone through a couple idea's and none of them have looked good so far. Beneath is a photograph of what the turret currently looks like, underneath the plasticard and greenstuff is some brownstuff which I used to kind of give a decent base to start from, it probably looks better than what the green/plastic looks like heh. http://i20.photobucket.com/albums/b219/JohnDDW/th_DSCN0072.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/229479-multimelta-turret/ Share on other sites

Just pop the speeder melta on the long stormbolter mount and add the storm bolter grips to the back. Simple and easy. Xyon
That sounds nice, I'm trying to make a weapon that looks like it operates without a gunner behind it though, so that's why I'm not adding the grips. Kind of like the razorback weapons, or the twin linked assault cannon/heavy bolter that is on the land raiders. Brother Karr
I did something similar but I got a hold of one of the Space Marine Command Sensor things from the Command Sprue for vehicles and used that in the center and put the gun on one side and a Searchlight on the other side. Looks good so far needs some bulking out in the back and some cables plus some green stuff work. But now it looks like the Machine Spirit or a Marine Safe inside the armor can fire the gun at any time. I will attempt to get a picture of the conversion after work.
