commander alexander
First of all, the TOPIC DESCRIPTION WAS A JOKE. Alright now, to get to the pork & beans of this...... Does anyone else think that the new Tomb Kings War-Sphinx (the one with the tiger head), would make a sweet conversion for a thunderwolf mount? IF you could cover up, or fill in, or remove all the Egyptian stuff? I have been thinking about it lately, just one of those ideas that popped into my head. It's unlikely that I will do it, as I have sworn not to buy anything until the rest is painted, so that will be a very long time. Thunderhawk3015
Model is too big. You would have to mount it on a Dreadknight base to field it and that is a bit... excessive and you would be having a hard time getting cover and/or moving through terrain etc. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/229519-warsphinx/#findComment-2754105 Share on other sites
chino
The only way this could work is if you convert it to have the Warsphinx rearing with your Wolf Lord on its head, melting faces with a wicked guitar solo on his Frost Axe. The Warsphinx must also have LED eyes to simulate lazor beamz shooting from his eyes. Go big or go home, bud. Really though, the Warsphinx model is huge and its pretty much the size of a Dreadknight. Huge. Edit: Better Frost Axe. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/229519-warsphinx/#findComment-2754141 Share on other sites
commander alexander
I knew it was big, I was just asking if anyone else had any thought or inclination of using it. And yes, if your gonna go big, go real big or go home. I would definitely pose it rearing up, with the wolf lord in an epic pose as well. Donutzot
well the warsphinx would be good if your looking for a display model but for gaming purpose no way josé Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/229519-warsphinx/#findComment-2754155 Share on other sites
Forté
The pose is pretty static too so even though its an amazing model, I doubt it would convert too well. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/229519-warsphinx/#findComment-2754211 Share on other sites
guthmaer
go ahead and make it how you feel it should be put it in an apocalypse battle with your own rules and freinds who dont care about rules. Brother Nihm
Funny how you suggest a model that is clearly made for your arch enemy, the Thousand Sons. Have you talked to your local Inquisitor lately, mmmm? Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/229519-warsphinx/#findComment-2755089 Share on other sites
commander alexander
I denny that any such taint resides in me. And Wolves are not subject to the fancies and whims of Inquisitors. If you could remove all that eqyptian stuff, I think it would make an excellent conversion for a bionic, giant thunderwolf. maverik_girl
http://www.bolterandchainsword.com/index.p...howtopic=229416 my lascannon, and every other gun on the table can pick you off even if I'm not looking.. that thing is HUGE! What base are you planning to put it on? a trygon base or a 60mm base like Canis? and your gonna need allot of green stuffed fur to do it. Spacefrisian
I dont thinkit will fit on the 60 mm base. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/229519-warsphinx/#findComment-2755229 Share on other sites
commander alexander
I will make it fit, and yes its that huge :) . But seriously, its a fantasy game, so its a fantastical idea I had. My Idea was to have it be a giant, mechanical thunderwolf, with lots of custom goodies and trophies and other fun stuff. chino
The Rider? What might work to off set the Warsphinx's size is to use a model in Terminator as the rider? Althought it may look odd, but the Warsphinx would need a suitable huge rider. Maybe a true scale Terminator or Power Armoured Marine? commander alexander
Yes, the rider would have to be large as well, or it would look 'off'. Very good point chino.
