neonfunk
Hi there, can anyone please help me out in answering: 1) Can Justicars (of ANY type i.e. GKT, GKSS, GKPS, GKIS, purifiers) take the special weapon upgrade of psycannon/incenerator/psilenser? e.g. In a 10 man GKSS squad, can we have: 1 x Justicar w/ Psycannon (master Crafted) 8 x Purifiers w/ whatever u want (other than the heavy weapons of course) 1 x Purifier w/ Psycannon.... legal setup? 2) If they can, can they master craft that weapon? In the case of GKT, can we MC the cannon AND the cc wep? e.g. 1 x GKT w/Psycannon (MC'd) AND w/ Daemonhammer (MC'd) 4 x GKT w/ whatever... ("normal" weps etc...) legal? 3) Does the librarian's teleport homer affect "the summoning" power? or does the homer only affect DS'ing units? Thanks and apologies in advance, for the "noobish-ness" of my questions (and the codex isnt really conclusive in relation to all the above - from my point of view that is...), I've just recently got back into the game after 3rd ed.... Cheers Neonfunk Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/229521-justicars/ Share on other sites
jeffersonian000
Unfortunately, it states in each entry that only Grey Knights may upgrade to a special weapon, while under special close combat weapons its states any model may upgrade. As such, Justicars may not be given special weapons, since they are listed in the entry as Justicars while the rest of the Squad are listed as Grey Knights. This also goes for Terminators, Interceptor, Purgation squads, and Purifiers. The only unit listed with generic titles are the Paladins, as they do not have Justicars/Knights of the Flame. neonfunk
ok... so i guess the answer is no, you cant give them psycannons (and hence, no Master crafting?) sux.... anyhow, can anyone please clarify whether teleport homers work on the summoning? Many thanks in advance! Neonfunk Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/229521-justicars/#findComment-2754186 Share on other sites
jeffersonian000
Yes, Teleport Homers work with Summoning, as Summoned units are placed via deep strike rules to which Homers modify. However, keep in mind that due to the wording of our Teleport Homers, Nemesis Dreadknights and vehicles can't use them (C:GK, pg62, only Strike Squads, Interceptor Squads and models in Terminator Armour may gain the benefits of a GK Teleport Homer). Sad face, Matt Ward F'd us again! SJ Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/229521-justicars/#findComment-2754205 Share on other sites
Something Wycked
Yes, Teleport Homers work with Summoning, as Summoned units are placed via deep strike rules to which Homers modify. This is unfortunately incorrect. Codex: Grey Knights, page 62, emphasis mine: If Grey Knight Strike Squads, Interceptor Squads or models in Terminator armor wish to teleport onto the battlefield via deep strike and choose to do so within 6" of a model carrying the homer, then they won't scatter. Note that the teleport homer only works for units that are teleporting, not other means. The Summoning is not teleporting; it is only movement using deep strike rules created by a psychic power. This, of course lots of people here also maintain you don't scatter from the summoning... but I think that's wishful thinking. ~Gil :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/229521-justicars/#findComment-2754761 Share on other sites
jeffersonian000
Well, there you go! Teleport Homers that are only slightly more useful in this edition than they were in the last edition. Woot.
