orbion
so i just got my order with my librarian in it and the sword in his hand is bent at the hilt with a pretty steep angle. Any suggestions on how to fix that as i don't want to bother my LGS and have them send it back to wait like 2 weeks for the order. any tips would be much appreciated. Thanky you in advance http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/146/i...1105111401.jpg/ Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/229572-send-it-back-or-work-with-it/ Share on other sites
henrywalker
don't go to your LGS. email/call their support and tell them. most likely they will just send out another model. i had a termie box with a missing sprue and a duplicate. ie 2xbodies 0x weapons i told them and they shipped out 2 x weapons sprue, ie free terminators. dunno if it was a mistake or compensation. you might get luck thouguh Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/229572-send-it-back-or-work-with-it/#findComment-2755001 Share on other sites

ShinyRhino
It's pewter, so it should actually bend back easily. Common occurrence for metal minis. Just bend slow and steady. orbion
Have you had experience bending metal models? im just worried it will snap off so if you have any tips like heating itso it's more plyable or something lemme know. UltraRich
If you feel like bending it ask GW first. Send them a mail with the picture then phone them. If you want to try bending it just let them know if they are happy for you to try this as you are concerned about the wait. They will say dont do it, send it back. Do it and see how you go or we will send you an new one out. Either way you are covered. From experience if you straighten it Id say it would be a weak joint going forward as it will have "stretched" the metal. So personally before you open it Id ask the question. Psy-Crow
I know how trollish this sounds but GW quality control is atrocious. Have not had a single metal box set without a miscast, something snapped off, something bent out of recognition or something missing. However, when it comes to fixing the problem, they are excellent. Just tell them the problem and a replacement will be winging its way to you in no time. I know its frustrating but i'd wait till i'd spoken to GW before opening box, then when replacement arrives you have a spare to chop up for conversions. orbion
Thanks for the responses guys I was going to keep it unopened but when i called GW they said open it and try and bend it, if it does snap off then they will do something about it so here goes nothing lol. orbion
So I bent it back but when I opened the blister pack i realized it wasn't just bent but it had kind of been broken. there is a small red circle around the hilt of the sword where you can see a crack left over from moving it back to place. Now i put in a bit of super glue to help it stay like that (fingers crossed). Brother Valerius
Dude, just contact GW customer service again, tell them that the model isn't salvageable, and request that they let you send it in for a new one. You shouldn't have to try to work around it, and GW has good customer service. orbion
actually the plastic blade I put on is holding really well and I kind of like it better hehe. Just need to get some GS around it to make sure it doesn't go anywhere.
