Baldrick
Hi guys, just wanted a bit of a hand with this plan for my conversion - the aim is to create a model which looks undisputably like a Captain, but who doesn't have the "traditional" paraphanalia of the rank, such as a Cape - a combat leader, not a catwalk...walker. Anyway, the main idea to single him out is to give him a chest peice used by no other guy in the army (already sorted), and a new pose, the classic bent leg on rock pointing will do :P Now I'm no sculptor...or cutter/sawer/greenstuffer, so I need something which will be VERY simple and easy, I've found these peices, and want to know if it's possible to do the above conversion with them... http://www.bitzbox.co.uk/images/space_mari..._legs_large.jpg (the right leg) http://www.bitzbox.co.uk/images/space_mari...epads_large.jpg (the left leg) Cheers! Olis
Yes, of course it's possible. You must be aware that for this you'll need to cut the second pair of legs at the crotch - whether straight down the middle or nearer the leg. If you have concerns about your sculpting abilities I'd suggest attempting to remove the leg (and the thigh/groin ribbing) with as much care as possible. It'll be easier on you later on into the conversion if you attempt to preserve the ribbing as best you can. SunThirster
The running Khorne berserker legs are really easy to reposition into the sort of pose that your after. maybe look into those.. they are not to chaos looking either. http://www.bitzbox.co.uk/product_info.php/...gssbqvf24fakjg0 Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/229581-captain-conversion-conundrum/#findComment-2755159 Share on other sites
GooseDaMoose
The running Khorne berserker legs are really easy to reposition into the sort of pose that your after. maybe look into those.. they are not to chaos looking either. http://www.bitzbox.co.uk/product_info.php/...gssbqvf24fakjg0 I can verify that, very easy. Simply assemble as normal and then the leg off at the crotch and twist it slightly: http://i1043.photobucket.com/albums/b440/GooseVonMoose/ChaplainAzrael006.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/229581-captain-conversion-conundrum/#findComment-2755172 Share on other sites

swiftyboy2
CErtainly doable, shouldn't take too much hassle either, as said the knorne berzerker legs also work well for this, alternatively, there are two of the mk2 veterans which have one leg raised standing on a rock, it's not a great deal of hassle to remove the torso and they look great. Baldrick
Some great responses guys :) Thanks for all your help. Those Khorne Beserker legs look like they could be pretty nifty for what I want to achieve, I'll certainly consider it, unfortunately I don't have any to hand :/ As I don't play Chaos, and in my experience finding specific bits can be a real pain... - As it happens I already have both pairs of legs in my original post, so for convenience sake if it's not much more difficult to do it that way then I'd prefer it. If the Beserker legs are considerably easier though, then I'll start hunting for 'em :) EDIT: To be honest though, the guy you've shown as an example looks more like a squad leader rather than a Captain... hmmm, I suppose if he were pointing his left arm, eagle backpack, iron halo, and either a modified boltgun/storm bolter/powersword/chainsword he'd look more like a Captain... damn, if only I had photoshop I could make a mock-up! :) Also, would it be required to add the plasticard extension to the skull leg? Or was that done for personal taste? DarkHazz113 has the right idea of what I had in mind with the bits I've got to hand at the moment, except there'd be no cloth - speaking of which, for the kind of cuts I'll be making, (on the bent leg, cutting the crotch ball away from the ribbing and leg, and for the tac marine, completely removing the right leg & ribbing) would that require much sculpting to fit the tac marine legs?
