Thorgrum
For a while now I've been trying to figure out where a Rune Priests 'Living Lightning' strikes from, spesifically which direction. The codex fluff states it comes from the skys above, indicating its from directly above the intended target. However, several guys I've played against insist its from the point of view of the priest, usually as it pops their vechicals. Can anyone clarify this, or point me in the right direction. Union.Jack
Although the Rune priest needs line of sight to cast it the actul lightning strikes from the sky. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/229585-living-lightning/#findComment-2755280 Share on other sites
Kassill
Even though it says in the book that it is from the sky, I still cant help but picture my RP tossing it like that larper on youtube. :D Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/229585-living-lightning/#findComment-2755297 Share on other sites
Valerian
As a psychic shooting attack, treat it like any shot from the Rune Priest. He needs LOS to the target, and if there is some cover between him and the target, they can take an appropriate cover save, if it's better than their armour save. Likewise, target vehicles can be obscured. The sky part is fluff, and doesn't impact the rules on these types of attacks. If it makes you feel any better, just consider it to have originated from the "sky", right in front of the Rune Priest's nose. Grey Mage
Yup, fluff =/= rules. Its a shooting attack, and it says nothing about being barrage- so its from the point of veiw of the priest. MalachiOfRuss
As opposed to Njal's ability which specifically states that it strikes vehicles on their Side armor (representing the "top").
