Magnor
so having the 2 PG and the PP or PF would be a bad idea? Right now I have a 9-man with Ulrik in a drop pod. Used it in one game and well, we had to end the game before they aver came on the field. We only gt to the middle of round 3. Friend was sick so was kicking us out of his house. The second half of round 3 was looking to be exciting. Oh well. As for AB, I will pay more attention to it's "valid lists" Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/229591-squad-overkill/page/2/#findComment-2757706 Share on other sites

Simo429
Instead of having one squad that can do all jobs have a list that can do all jobs with a good idea in your head of what each squad does I run 3 9 man GH squads 1 with a plasma gun and a combi plasma wolf guard (with power fist) and 2 melta both with combi meltas and powerfists, I then have a 6 man squad with a flamer in a las plas. The plasma squad go hunting anything with a 2+ save, the melta squads are for tank hunting and the 6 man squad generally hold and then react. No this isn't perfect and I know the lads who favour the complete MSU and take this to another level (and I had to make a compromise on the competitive and what I enjoy using) but hopefully you see that the key to having success at this game is having an idea of what every squads function is, its why so many of the top players lists you see at tournaments mix special weapons. Valerian
The pen and paper talk makes me laugh. AB is great for those who have demanding work and kiddies. Saves tons of time(and uses less trees) Army Builder has never failed me, and I've never had it give me three specials for my space wolves. Are you sure you are using the correct/latest files? I used Army Builder for years, but for the last several years I've gone to an excel document that I just created myself (one for each of four armies). The printouts look much better, and are way easier to read. I just copy in new tabs every time I want to adjust a list, and let excel do the total points for me. I'm much happier with my own product, and don't have to rely on AB files which may or may not do what they are supposed to. Sorry for the OT. Marshal Wilhelm
My pen and pad is always up to date. As for the 13nth company- theres a number of players who have found the current C:SW capable of fielding a good aproximation of a 13nth company force. You might give it a try. Grey Mage, so when had we decided that you were going to finish that Drop Wolf tactica for us to peruse over like the Eldar Skinning one? Or did I have that conversation in my head? Link : Drop Bears Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/229591-squad-overkill/page/2/#findComment-2758164 Share on other sites

Magnor
So to answer a previous post, I had two drop pods. I decided to drop Arjac and his 4 friends first because of the heat they were going to take right away. Worked out great for me. held up some firepower and locked down a dread for the full 3 turns. Which was kinda aggravating. I knocked off his CC weapon and then he could not hurt me very well.... and well Arjac would not finish him off...... very annoying.
