mnetting
Hey All, Seeing as how everyone has been super helpful and informative here I thought I would ask a few more GK related questions to try to clarify some things. Thanks in advance for any answers: 1) Can I join an assassin to a unit of troops or because they are Elites or something else that keeps them from joining a unit? 2) Why does Crowe have to walk alone; or does he need to walk alone? - Everyone always seems to run Crowe on his own. Is this because of the fact he gives the enemy Furious Charge and re-rolls when folks attack him or is there some rule I'm missing where he always has to walk alone? Couldn't I put him with a squad in a rhino or something them get them out and split him off? 3) If I have a rhino with a batch of 5 Purifiers and the Purifiers have two incinerators does: - the Rhino moving count as moving for the dudes inside so they can't fire their heavy weapons? - If they can fire their heavy weapons or they have psycannons which allow assault can they still fire if the vehicle moves 12" since it's not the vehicle making the shots? - If the vehicle is stunned that means the guys inside are stunned too right so they can't shoot? - Lastly if a vehicle is immobilized it can't pivot right? The description sort of suggests it's not a move action but it's still moving right? A guy was trying to tell me that he can still pivot because it's not a move action yesterday and I don't agree. JamesI
1. Assassins are not Independent Characters and therefore can not join units. 2. If I recall correctly, Crowe is not an Independent Character and can not join units 3. If a vehicle moves, the guys inside count as moving so they can't fire heavy weapons. If a vehicle moves more than 6 inches, the guys inside can not fire at all. KnowThyEnemy
Hey All, Seeing as how everyone has been super helpful and informative here I thought I would ask a few more GK related questions to try to clarify some things. Thanks in advance for any answers: 1) Can I join an assassin to a unit of troops or because they are Elites or something else that keeps them from joining a unit? assains are not Independant Characters, so therefore they may not join units. Furthermore, they are "Units of 1" (they have no option enabling to take more models in that same unit) so they may not be joined by an IC. Crowe walks alone for the same reason listed above. You may put him in an empty transport/landraider/storm raven but he may not join a unit or have an IC join him 3) If I have a rhino with a batch of 5 Purifiers and the Purifiers have two incinerators does: - the Rhino moving count as moving for the dudes inside so they can't fire their heavy weapons? are you sure incinerators are heavy weapons? if so, they may not fire their heavy weapons - If they can fire their heavy weapons or they have psycannons which allow assault can they still fire if the vehicle moves 12" since it's not the vehicle making the shots? psycannons fire as heavy if the unit (or the transport) hasnt moved and assault if the unit (or the transport) has moved. if vehicles move 12", they (and any unit inside of them) may not fire unless they have a special rule allowing them to do so (such as fast, power of the machine spirit, etc). - If the vehicle is stunned that means the guys inside are stunned too right so they can't shoot? Correct - Lastly if a vehicle is immobilized it can't pivot right? The description sort of suggests it's not a move action but it's still moving right? A guy was trying to tell me that he can still pivot because it's not a move action yesterday and I don't agree. If a vehicle is immobilised, it may not pivot. pivoting does not count as moving only for the purposes of shooting (if i remember correctly). check the rulebook to be sure damn ninjas... <_< Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/229715-some-questions-if-you-dont-mind/#findComment-2757596 Share on other sites
T3mpl@r Crusade
3) If the rhino moves 6 inches or less, it has 2 firing ports so you could shoot 2 flamers out of there, they are assault weapons. a move with a rhino over 6 inches does not allow oyu to fire any shots with any weapon, even though its not the rhino itself that is firing. The only way you could shoot if you had to move farther would be to disembark after the rhino has moved, and THEN you can fire everything. If the vehicle is stunned, the troops inside are effected, but if they disembark they can act normally. seems silly right? immobilized vehicles cannot move at all, so yes no pivoting. Think of it this way, the rhino is mobilized because its drivetrain or tracks are destroyed. If it cant move forward, why would it be able to turn because of one of those problems? a wrecked engine wouldnt let you move, and destroyed tracks would leave you spinning your wheels.
