henrywalker
so i just finished reposing my dreadknight, any opinions are great. i've put him next to a completely normal dreadknight. i have a third to build and my idea is to have it down on it's right knee with it's right arm out firing and it's left hand on the ground Thoughts? (oh and the DK's hand is not included as it is swappable and i forgot to put it on for the photo) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/229716-my-take-on-reposing-the-dreadknight/ Share on other sites
veidin
Only critique I have is the Terminator's hands should be matching the Dreadknights. However the Terminator moves is how the Dreadknight moves. (Think Ripley in Aliens in the loader suit) So if the arm is out to the side the Termies should be as well. Otherwise I like it! henrywalker
yes, i agree that this would look better. hard though as all of the termie left arms have a gap for a storm bolter on them. While i agree it looks better i think that they are more controlled psychically, hence the intense training. also looking at thee mechanics of the model it is hard to see how the pilot could have the correct range of motion i'll look for an arm though Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/229716-my-take-on-reposing-the-dreadknight/#findComment-2757800 Share on other sites
veidin
Look on page 20 of the codex. Notice the Termie has his sword arm outstretched to match the Dreadknights. Pretty much same concept except yours is the gun arm. henrywalker
oh yes, i agree that thats what GW says, i just think psychic control makes more sense Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/229716-my-take-on-reposing-the-dreadknight/#findComment-2757821 Share on other sites
nurglez
maybe on the base you should have a power armoured grey knight with a remote control... Chairman_woo
oh yes, i agree that thats what GW says, i just think psychic control makes more sense Fair enough but then why would you ever have the pilot mounted like that? Makes a hell of a lot more sense to me that the DK is using an augmented version of the same black carapace and servo interface used on terminator and to a lesser extent power armour. Psychic controll seems nedlessly complicated and fraught with problems i.e. you dont want your big suit to fail and stop because some sodpot has a psyhood or simmilar, or the pilot gets fried by perrils just walking to the battlefield etc. Anyway regardless of fluff you may find my post linked below helpfull, I tried to go into as much detail as I could about fixing the anatomy of the DK. To fix the pilots left arm you need nothing more than green stuff and a knife. Straighten the arm just like you did with the DK itself and use GS in the shoulder joint as well as in the elbow joint, this will allow you almost as much freedom of movement as the main arm to match the poses. Seems if you wan to go the psy controll route you would be better adjusting the pose of the pilot to something that sugests this (e.g. straight on or reaching back inside the body of the DK or something) as it stands it looks more like it was supposed to match the pose of the main body but just dosent if you see what I mean. http://www.bolterandchainsword.com/index.p...p;#entry2712714 Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/229716-my-take-on-reposing-the-dreadknight/#findComment-2757866 Share on other sites

Then made a neat paragraph break to change subject, and coupled it with some nice clear "enough about fluff for now" langauge. Semantics strike again! :teehee: Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/229716-my-take-on-reposing-the-dreadknight/#findComment-2758230 Share on other sites
