ShinyRhino
Never been a huge fan of the idea of a venerable old salt like Cassius running around without a helmet on, so I needed to convert a helmeted version. Also, I've never been a huge fan of the sotck GW model, so a simple headswap just wasn't gonna cut it. Here's what I ended up with: http://i191.photobucket.com/albums/z43/goalie20/Warhammer%2040K/chapfinal01.jpg http://i191.photobucket.com/albums/z43/goalie20/Warhammer%2040K/chapfinal02.jpg http://i191.photobucket.com/albums/z43/goalie20/Warhammer%2040K/chapfinal03.jpg http://i191.photobucket.com/albums/z43/goalie20/Warhammer%2040K/chapfinal04.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/229805-counts-as-chaplain-cassius/ Share on other sites
Generating Random Name...
That's the bananas! The bolter seems a bit stange though, as he's not looking in that direction it would make more sense to have a relaxed pose, but I think that model is all one thing? Edit: I just saw the WIP log. fivepointedstar
no offense, but he looks like he's about to 'hug' a canifex. Like you stated the "old Salt" does need to be 'meaner' thou and more aggressively positioned as-well. Brother Joseph
I love it. I think the U on the backpack need a leetle highlights but as for pose its epic. its always hard to do poses that aren't in mid fight cause they'll look out of place 1/2 the time. but i imagine hes either a.) walking across the field leading the brothers in prayer or b.) giving a rousing pre-battle speech Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/229805-counts-as-chaplain-cassius/#findComment-2759001 Share on other sites
Retributis
I would've modelled the bolter pointing in the same direction as he's looking. Would have given him a purposeful look. ShinyRhino
Thanks all. Definitely a fun conversion, even if it was just a single arm. no offense, but he looks like he's about to 'hug' a canifex. Like you stated the "old Salt" does need to be 'meaner' thou and more aggressively positioned as-well. I would've modelled the bolter pointing in the same direction as he's looking. Would have given him a purposeful look. The look I was after was more of a "wading into incoming fire" look. Kind of a 'do your worst!' effect. I was limited by the selection of available bitz, so this is the result. The end result conveys that feeling to me, so it's all good. I wanted some symmetry in his arm posing, and I think I got it. ;) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/229805-counts-as-chaplain-cassius/#findComment-2759744 Share on other sites
Spacefrisian
All nice and such but wheres his boltpistol and combiflamer part? Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/229805-counts-as-chaplain-cassius/#findComment-2759914 Share on other sites
FatMan
All nice and such but wheres his boltpistol and combiflamer part? Well there ARE two barrels represented on the Bolter, I’m guessing that’s it! Your guys got a good solid paintjob. The pose however just looks extremely silly. I was never a fan of that model in particular, but with the right arm it just looks odd. Other than that great stuff. Schultzhoffen
Well painted but it does look a bit like he's saying: "Welcome to Bistro el Cassius! On the menu tonight..." ShinyRhino
All nice and such but wheres his boltpistol and combiflamer part? Well there ARE two barrels represented on the Bolter, I’m guessing that’s it! Yes, indeed. I tried about 4-5 different combiflamer builds, and all looked really daft. So, I figured if Infernus is a master-crafted combiflamer, Cassius has had time to streamline and miniaturize the flamer attachment. Kind of like an M203 that shoots fire. lol. MagicMan
Combi-Flamer on a strap around his shoulder, a book in his hand, that would have been a fantastic pose. Still lovely work though.
