Lost Primarchs

Recommended Posts

It is implied in the HH novel Prospero Burns that the action against the Thousand Sons is not the first time the Wolves have been called against another legion. It is Russ himself who states that the Wolves has something to do with atleast one of the missing legions` reason for being missing. This gives the Wolves the sense that they are the Emperor´s final sanction against another legion.. i.e Executioners... the fact that they are sent to "take care" (Even if it was Horus that made the kill-order) of the Thousand sons reaffirms this, atleast in the mind of the Wolves themselves.
Yes Russ has cast the daemon prince Primarch Magnus the red back to the warp.

Magnus is the primarch of the thousand sons

Well Magnus was not a Daemon Prince when they fought... and he was not cast back into the Warp since he did not come from the warp in the first place. He escaped into the warp as a means to save what was left of his legion and his own life at the hands of Russ.

I think also in the world bearer books there is implyed that the ultramarines eather got more troops from the destroyed companies or that the space wolves did destroy, or that one of the other primarc was destroyed. It would make sence since it is odd that they just disapeared.
The Ultramarines bit has been declared a joke and a rumor not to be trusted by A D-B. He didn't expect anyone to take it seriously.

Then it is an error he will need to correct in another book, as most folks are not going to read his blog or B&C posts. So currently, it is "implied/rumored" in "First Herectic".

I know that Black Library is not exactly canon, but in one of the HH books I believe that when Chaos stole the infant Primarchs one of them was destroyed in the attempt.

I´m not sure because in one book (I´m sorry I cant remember which) I think it is Dorn and Malcador that is walking along the hall where there had been statues of all the 20 grown Primarchs after they had been found. So all of the had at one time been inch charge of their legions otherwise the legions would not have to be disbanded.

i'm not entirely sure here but i seem to remember reading something written by GW that said they delibrately left out two primarchs add epth and mystery, give players some elbow room when making their own chapters and my personal favorite and the most proabable answer to screw with our minds.

GW playing with our minds?? Would they really do that? <_<

Call me crazy, but I think in a way Magnus was a Daemon Prince!

I think to a large degree he was 'normal' in appearance due to his Primarch status, and the need to keep him rather 'normal' looking outside of the warp so Chaos could continue to use him.

What follows is Spoiler material concerning the Thousand Sons novel.

However, think back to when the mighty Magnus breaks down the Emperor's homemade Firewall on Terra.... remember? Magnus breaks through and he's trying to 'warn' the Emperor, and all he really did was give Chaos a gate to Terra..... and when he materialized out of the Warp EVERYTHING that made eyecontact basically burst into flames. He realized why his mere presence was resulting in this... he wasn't a Primarch anymore, he was some 'warp thing'. (Daemon Prince wasn't in the vocabulary back then, but I'm pretty sure he was as close as you can get.)

I wondered if all the primarchs basically have a soul which is a powerful warp being- a kind of daemon?

Magnus becomes a Daemon Prince by basically leaving his body once and for all, in the fight against Russ (I think Index Astartes: Thousand Sons says this)

And in The First Heretic, the daemon claims that the Ruinous Powers are just as much the parents of the Primarchs, as the Emperor is.
