darkaen
okay so this is a really random question and i'm just getting back into the hobby after a few years, according to the SW codex grey hunters have a CCW BP and standard bolter but if I assemble the models with just chainswords and bolters would they still "count as" having a standard boltgun equipped? d@n
thats pretty much how everyone does it and as roughly half the bolters can only be held one handed its safe to assume thats how they are meant to be modelled. I have never heard or seen anyone have a problem with grey hunters not having a bolt pistol modelled although strictly speaking our grey hunters should have a bolt pistol aswell. techmarine Azuris
Standard equipment needs to be only minimally modelled on models, does anyone actually model grenades? The ruling is that as long as the model clearly represents the unit then it is WYSIWIG. However, upgrades need to be modelled to WYSIWIG standards. Magnor
personally I mix it up. That way I have models that represent both. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/229934-what-you-see-is-what-you-get/#findComment-2760628 Share on other sites
jester262
personally I mix it up. That way I have models that represent both. that's pretty much what I do. In one squad I have a few guys with holstered bolt pistols, a few with combat knives strapped to their leg, so on and so forth. Works perfectly fine and is perfectly legal. Nrthstar
I was on librarium one day and saw a similar post, the first responder said only what was modeled was usable. gave a hell of a fit when no one agreed with him. Made me rofl. I'm glad we don't have to model them all the same for standard gear, it would be very boring. Valerian
Standard equipment that the unit/model comes with do not have to be represented. WYSIWYG is to avoid confusion, and if the unit gets the stuff automatically, then there is no confusion. You can model your basic guys however you wish (any combination of Bolters, Bolt Pistols, Grenades, and/or CCWs). What you must do, however, is model the options and upgrades. So, the guy with a Meltagun, which does not come standard, needs to have a Meltagun. The guy with a Power Fist needs to have a Power Fist. There is no standard for what Mark of the Wulfen looks like, but your model with MotW must be distinguishable from the others, and you should point that out to your opponents prior to the game.
