Grimtooth
I have seen the B&C army painter tool and wondered if it was every modified to do the IA pictures of the SW units. That would be pretty nice if I was more computer literate in making those types of things. Anyone see anything like that for the SW specific models? FenrisWolf
Would be nice. Can't see the wolfy bits in it and there is so much detail in our models. This is the closest I have to my colors that I do. Grimtooth
Yea I have used the default one a couple of times. The SW models from the Index Astartes articles would freaking rock. I wish there was also some vehicle templates from the various articles as well to work on painting concepts. You use purple shoulderpads? Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/229956-space-wolves-army-painter/#findComment-2761112 Share on other sites
FenrisWolf
Yes. Right pad purple and left pad dark blue. The dark blue pad has a crescent moon as my company sigil. Wanted to make my own as I thought the others too common. I was also originally going for a pre-heresy look, but that fell by the wayside. As for purple, it's my wife favorite color. It actually looks a bit darker on the model. :o Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/229956-space-wolves-army-painter/#findComment-2761119 Share on other sites

Forté
Here's what I'm aiming for now. Using Astronomican Grey. I know it's alot lighter than most use but it's grown on me. Scab Red for red shoulder parts. The only way to get it more SW specific would be to save the image and use something like Photoshop to add on details. FenrisWolf
Nice looking color forte. Does it look as light on the model or does it darken up a bit? Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/229956-space-wolves-army-painter/#findComment-2762263 Share on other sites
Forté
Does still come out pretty light but darkens with the shading. Saving for an airbrush at the mo but will be trying to follow DV8s tutorial as his scheme really grabs me (he uses fortress grey over codex grey). Astronomican Grey has a slight blue tint to it too. FenrisWolf
My problem is the color I want is almost the exact shade of the unpainted plastic. But there is a bit too much variability in the production runs and clear coat probably doesn't count for a tournament color! Forté
Think the closest I've seen is Astronomican and Fortress grey if its the plastic colour your after.
