Tybrus
Ok so I am reading over the Codex while I sit on my own "Golden Throne" and start reading over Mordak's fluff and rules. Now I won't quote the book as that's against the rules but lets talk about his "First in" power. This states (well the key part) "That Mordrak and any unit he is with" (Paraphrased) Yet, Mor like Crowe is not an IC. So one would guess that the rules is written this way for his ghost knights; but if so wound't the rule read "Mordark and His Ghost Nights May..." I am thinking that someone messed up on proofing and both should have been IC's. I half the "Hero's" of the Grey Knights are not even IC's? Doomaflatchi
No, I think it's actually written just as intended. By making it "and any unit he is with", they allow you to attach other ICs (like a Librarian) to the squad, and allow them to benefit from his "First Into The Fray" rule. nurglez
Otherwise, you could take mordrak, and 10 paladins with 4 psycannons/incinerators, and on the first turn you could put them where they want without scatter, and totally kill a squad to death. I think Mordrak is balanced, his squad of ghost knight's have no upgraded ranged weapons, but can drop down where they want, if you want to take advantage, you have to buy a libby or inquisitor, costing more and taking up your other hq choice. He's also an upgraded char for the squad, as opposed to an IC, so he can't be singled out in combat, and when he gets wounded he can spawn new ghost knights. Generally, when GW dont add IC onto their special rules, its for a good reason (Mephy I'm looking at you...). Brother Captain Kezef
The BA codex has a similar mix of IC and non-IC characters. It's a good way to balance certain characters.
