Tartarga
Hey everyone, first time poster, and I've been looking at everyone’s work and it looks amazing! Thought I'd post some Grey Knights I've been painting on and off to see what people think. Pictures are not the greatest cause I was using my IPhone.. I'll charge up my camera if people want to see better photos. Note: There’s no writing on books or purity seals because I haven't found a good tool to write on them... yet. Generating Random Name...
They're really cool! I love the power weapon effects. Coupla things though, oyur blue seems to be a bit flat, a wash would really help this, also a wash on the face of the face would help too. Great models though! GRN Ps. welcome to the B&C! Lestat
Well Tartarga, I can see that you are off to a good start there - the blade of the Dreadknight looks particularly nice. The blue threw me at first, but it sort of works for the GK's. My only critique would be that some of your paint appears a little too thick and has collected on edges of parts (i.e. the Terminators sword and the book hanging off his belt) Just try adding a little water to your paint and thinning it down. Some people recommend a milky consistency, but the best way is to experiment and see what works for you. Anyway, keep up the good work! dublindawg
Great start on your models. One suggestion would be to apply a wash to the gold area's to make them pop a bit. With solid gold the detail is lost a bit, but by adding a wash such as gyhon sepia (I think that's the greenish one) it brings out the lettering quite a bit. Looking forward to seeing more of your work. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/230062-tartargas-grey-knights/#findComment-2762863 Share on other sites
