demented
Hi all, Been a bit busy lately - moved cities, houses and jobs so far this year!! Finaly got around to doing some painting and though I would share with you my latest test model: http://i866.photobucket.com/albums/ab223/Phoenixlegionrob/PL2011/image01.jpg Not as clean as the army models will be but its just to have a play around with the color scheme. I have used this scheme on other models but I have made some tweaks for this one using a darker base layer for the cream. The army will be a mix of grey knights, inquisition, IG and SM all painted in the same colour/styles to create a uniform inquisitorial army. Also working on a back story and will probarbly base the army around a crusade force. Hope you enjoy Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/230205-my-take-on-the-inquisition/ Share on other sites
Warsmith Aznable
I really like the quartered red & white color scheme. I've got a quartered scheme going myself, and they're a lot of work but I think in the end they're worth it. But it's very nice. The one thing I don't like about it, and this may sound strange, but there's something about the basing that I think doesn't compliment the colors of the model. Maybe because the base is grey and the leg armor is grey it kind of runs together? I don't know, but something seems "off" about it. Other than that niggling point, I think it's great. demented
Thanks for the feedback -Max- I agree with your observation about the base. I usualy spend more time basing a model but as this was a test I haven't bothered! I will test out a desert scheme as I think that might go (the legs on all the models will be metallic), any other suggestions on the base colour? Warsmith Aznable
Not that comes to mind. Glad I could help, though. Good luck with the army and post lots of progress pictures! <_< Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/230205-my-take-on-the-inquisition/#findComment-2765463 Share on other sites

demented
Yes there will be more!!! I have been awaiting Draigo returning to stock. I like to start with a HQ model as I feel they set the tone for my armies. Managed to grab Draigo in finecast so thought I would add up a blister opening as a lot of people have been posting negative comments about the casts. I picked the first one on display and also grabbed the librarian in termy armour as well. Fingers crossed its a good cast! http://i866.photobucket.com/albums/ab223/Phoenixlegionrob/PL2011/IMG_2853.jpg First impressions were quite encouraging. I had a look at a couple of the store built models and noticed a lot of gaps in the bigger ones. Opened the box for Draigo and gave it a wash (heard you don't have to do this but better to be safe than sorry!) http://i866.photobucket.com/albums/ab223/Phoenixlegionrob/PL2011/IMG_2859.jpg Cut away the frames and any considerably large flash with my pliers. I noticed a couple of things which gave cause for concern: Firstly was the fact the stand was still attached to the model! This took some careful cutting away and will require some cleanup underneath. http://i866.photobucket.com/albums/ab223/Phoenixlegionrob/PL2011/IMG_2862.jpg Secondly I noticed that the small shield near the neck seemed to have some damage on it. I compared this to the pictures I had of the model and that should be clean with no damage. I think I will get away with it as it looks like normal battle damage but still... http://i866.photobucket.com/albums/ab223/Phoenixlegionrob/PL2011/IMG_2860copy.jpg Going to give it a cleanup and assembly then its on to painting (hopefully nothing else is miscast!). demented
I did find a few air bubbles that I had to fill. The model as it currently stands; cream and red is almost finished - just needs a wash or two and a highlight. http://i866.photobucket.com/albums/ab223/Phoenixlegionrob/PL2011/Image01-1.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/230205-my-take-on-the-inquisition/#findComment-2782617 Share on other sites
Olis
The cream and the red go nicely together, it's a good choice. :tu: Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/230205-my-take-on-the-inquisition/#findComment-2783324 Share on other sites
