smellyfox
I was just wondering what peoples ideas where for making a Terminator standard bearer? I only use banners spereingly in my army, they a reserved for special characters and company masters. Seargents etc have icons rather than banners. Keeping this in mind would it be acceptable to mount the deathwing banner on the back of a terminator do you think? Or should I convert a PF? I don't want to turn up at a tourney in the future to get told its not acceptable! Cheers for any advise! Steel Company
for mine, I used the standard that comes in the WHFB Empire general box, it works out really well. Grand Master Neo
i used the one from the command squad on the back of lysander. you can see it on the cardiff GW facebook page Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/230207-deathwing-command-squad/#findComment-2765277 Share on other sites
Droma
A good option now is the GK terminator box. It comes with a banner and an apoth arm. The squad could work as some sort of honor guard type squad in a DW army. Cactus
I'm using a second ed sergeant with back banner and lightning claws. He looks pretty badass. I might transfer the banner pole to a plastic body and make some magnetised arms. timmytool
If you don't want to get a command sq just for the banner pole l used a thunder hammer minus the hammer top (the outstretched arm one) then from their add a paper banner with a carved sprue banner top would do. l used a command sq banner myself only cus l had one spare. Thantoes
I just used the banner arm from the SM Command Squad. Cut the hand off and transfered it to a termie arm by removing the storm bolter. Looks great. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/230207-deathwing-command-squad/#findComment-2765701 Share on other sites
BigDozer11
I too use the command squad banner. I drilled a hole through a closed hand powerfist, and stuck a brass rod through to give it a little more support. I then pinned then banner to the brass rod. The empty banner makes it easy to paint the DW standard on it, or if you suck at free-hand like me and have access to a quality color printer, print it out on a transfer sheet, and cut to fit the art work to place on the blank banner. HJL
I made my own banner from a beastman banner pole and a paper clip for the cross section, then printed a banner and painted it with varnish and pva glue, then painted over that with acrylics to make it look painted  looks pretty good really. Brother Kovash
Here's a good one: http://fortressofunforgiven.homestead.com/...1mof_002_a.html Otherwise, try using google or another search engine if you'd like to try a different method. Grand Master Raziel
I just used the banner arm from the SM Command Squad. Cut the hand off and transfered it to a termie arm by removing the storm bolter. Looks great. Did that too. It's an easy conversion to do. Thanks! dark to light is your friend here. i freehanded mine and it seemed to work out well i started by sectioning of different sigments of colour(darkest shade of red at top and darkest shade of brown at the bottom) then building up from there Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/230207-deathwing-command-squad/#findComment-2768386 Share on other sites
The Shadow Guard
Model the standard all by itself on it's own slotta base and have either cherubs or servo skulls holding it up. That way you can place it close to any model that you wish to be a standard bearer and remove it if the local game rules don't allow it without having to create a standard bearer model specifically. Just an idea.... SG Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/230207-deathwing-command-squad/#findComment-2768915 Share on other sites

Kaika87
I used the banner from the DA Veterans box, the one with the winged sword on it, but if you want to get into some more advanced conversion work the command squad probably ends up looking better.
